Elena's POV:
I finally swipe my card to enter our dorm. God, that walk felt like an eternity. I wish there was a secret underway passage to my room so I don't have to socialize with people every now and then.
"Please don't kill me," I hear Ben yell. Now what?
I quickly step inside with Alex walking alongside. I notice Ben and Liam in the living room, each holding consoles as they kept moving as if they are racing in actual life.
"Weren't they supposed to lock someone up?" Alex asks beside me. I nod as I walk up to them.
Noticing me walking towards them, Liam immediately starts talking. "We locked the panther if that's what you're gonna ask," Liam says, his eyes focused on the television.
"Don't you both have better things to do," I ask, placing my hands on my hips.
"What could possibly be better than this," Ben says.
I roll my eyes and walk towards my bookshelf, not replying to him. I scan through the shelf. What have I not read? Well, most of it since I am quite busy with missions, I barely find time to read any of those. I randomly pick out a book and sit down on the other couch.
The hunger games.
I open it and my eyes glides across the lines. I am not a book worm of any sorts. I bought them and promised I would read them one day and that's it. Now they are stacked beautifully in my shelf forever.
As I kept reading, I get frustrated about being distracted by the boys who kept screaming about who is going to win. I look around to see Alex scroll through his phone and Jen has still not returned. I turn back towards my book.
"You're gonna lose Ben. How are you gonna pay me? Cash or card?"
"That's not gonna happen. I- wait, oh god," I hear him panicking. I take a peep above the book to see what's happening. He had one hand on his chest, like he is going through pain.
"Ben?" I call out, placing my book down.
"You alright man," I hear Liam ask as he kept switching his eyes from the television to Ben, not really sure on who to choose.
"I don't," Ben wheezes, letting go of his console and places his hand on the ground as he hunches, still clutching his chest with his eyes closed shut, "I-I forget... how to... breathe."
I quickly jump off my seat and rush towards him. Alex follows suit. Liam places his console on the couch and hunches beside Ben.
"Are you having a cardiac arrest?" Liam asks, a little concerned. I glare at him before turning towards Ben.
"Hey, does it hurt where the bullet wound is?" Alex queries.
The bullet wound on his chest almost cost his life. Doctors prohibited him from doing toilsome work, which definitely includes hyperactivity.
"Alex, call the doctor," I say in anguish. He quickly gets up from his kneeling position and rushes to grab his phone.
"Ben, talk to us. Say something," Liam says.
"Don't pass out Ben. Just calm down, okay? You will be fine," I state in agitation.
"I am not gonna pass out," He says, quite normal for someone who is having chest pain. My eyebrows pinch together.
The next second Ben gets up, and grabs hold of Liam's controller and throws it out of the window. He grabs his own before resuming the game.
"Because I have a game to win," he ends his sentence which followed by a victory song from the television showcasing that he won.
Both me and Liam are still static because of the sudden change of events. I look up at him with a confused face. So, he wasn't going through any pain.
"You..." Liam gets up not completing his sentence as he glared at Ben. Ben leaned against the seat placing his hand behind his head. "That's cheating," Liam yells.
"Everything is fair when it comes to cash."
"No doctor, he is having a chest pain and he is wheezing," I turn to see Alex speak in his phone anxiously as he walks towards us.
"I don't know doc, he suddenly fell down," he says and looks up to see Ben casually waving at him.
"Oh, never mind. He is fine now. Sorry for the trouble incurred to you. Yeah... Sure... Alright doctor," Alex says before shutting his phone.
"Really?" Alex gives him a mock glare. Ben laughs in return.
"You should have seen your faces. You all were like 'oh my god, Ben! Stay with me. Don't die. You're the best. You can't die'. Very dramatic," He says, laughing as he clutches his stomach.
"Nobody said that," I say and he ignores me.
"Now, raise your hand if you think I am better actor than Leonardo DiCaprio."
All of our hands stay the way they were.
"Jealous much but anyway, somebody's gotta pay me for losing the bet," he says turning towards Liam.
"You're not getting paid. You're getting stabbed," he says and grabs hold of the knife from the fruits basket. Ben lets out a girly screech before running outside the room. Liam follows him.
I shake my head before getting back on the couch as I continue with the book.
