Elena's POV:
I felt like a house of cards.
Watching Meghan talk ill about agency and trap Alex so craftily makes me feel like a pyramid of cards which collapses under the heavy blow of wind.
I never thought someone who is hiding, who is meant to be hiding is gonna play ace card against us. I clench my fist as few of my knuckles crack when I hear her call out Alex's name. I am one second away from grabbing my gun and shooting the screen.
I turn sideways to see Alex's eyes trained on the TV, a shocked expression on his face. He looked so pale and lost watching his sister after two whole months. But the not-so-brightside is Meghan making an appearance all over the world just to destroy his life.
Now I realize why Antonio was so happy and confident about me not finding Meghan. How can I catch a hiding prey when she's already soaring through the sky letting everyone know her identify?
"I don't care. Meghan is not stupid to come for any of us. She is running. Hiding to save her life. Once the agency get their hands on her, she is done."
"That's where you're wrong."
He told me. He told me directly that I am wrong. He knew his daughter would make such a move on Alex. The world would go blind to Meghan, whose location is still unknown but Alex, they know he's here. In the agency.
They will come for him. And now, instead of Meghan, Alex should hide.
Smart move Meghan.
"We have a bigger problem," I hear Ben say as his eyes were focused on watching out of the window. I walk forward and see multiple FBI cars park in front of our agency.
You have got to be kidding me?!
Dad walked towards us to peer down. The notorious director of FBI stepped out of the car as his son got out from the other side. I clench my hand as I glare at them. Will it be against law if I shoot them?
Dad cursed understand his breath. I know our situation is inevitably difficult. Alex is here and they have come to investigate and arrest him. I turn towards my dad.
"The FBI. What do we do dad?" I ask in agitation. Instead of answering my question, he turns towards Alex.
"Run."
We all keep quiet as our brain registered the word dad said. I was the first one to react.
"What do you mean run?! We have to explain to them that it has nothing to do with him!" I declare in frustration.
"We never reported anything on Meghan to the higher authority. Now, it has backfired. We don't have any other options for now," He hurries the words out before turning towards Alex. "Go to the east wing and escape through the panic room. We will buy you some time."
"But chief-" I start, but I am cut off as Alex speaks.
"Eighteen, chief's right. You know what the FBI would do if they get their hands on me," Alex says calmly. For someone who's world is falling apart, he's miraculously collected himself together.
I sigh and nod my head.
"Come on, let's go and deal with the FBI. Jennifer, track Meghan's location. Alex, leave through the panic room," Chief said and walked out. Agent forty-seven said something to Alex before leaving after chief. I give Alex one last look before parting ways and leaving after my father. Ben and Liam followed us. I don't know why gamma team is following us. If Jayden dares to say something to the FBI, he might as well start digging his grave.
