Elena's POV:

I quickly walk towards the backseat and pull the door open. I see the once sleeping child was crying now. I slowly hunch a little to get a better look at her. Her eyes were still closed and her mouth wide open producing ear splitting scream. Her cheeks and nose has turned a light shade of pink. I quickly grab her jingle thingy, whatever it's called, and shake it. The small beads on the inside started rattling producing a rather worse sound than the crying child and did no good. Mila was still crying.

I started shaking the thing vigorously on her face. This is supposed to stop her from crying. Why is it not working?!

"Alex! Calm her down."

Alex, who was unloading our trunk paused midway. He places the basket down, walks towards me. He hunches down and unbuckles the child from her car seat and scoops her in his arms, rocking her back and forth. She... she fell back asleep right away.

How did... how did he..?

"She woke herself from her sleep. And you..." he trails off not completing the sentence.

"And I, rather than putting her back to sleep, started shaking this jingle thingy."

Don't blame me. It's not my area of expertise. And I blame the kids. I am most certainly losing my brain cells because of them.

"Mike, come on, we have to go to the slider first," I hear Maria's voice.

"Let's get hotdog first," Mike replied.

I turn to see Gwen's and Liam's car was parked beside us. I notice Ben roll out a baby stroller.

"You forget these," Ben said, pointing to the stroller. I nod my head in thanks. Since the child is sleeping, placing her in the stroller would be a lot comfier.

After placing the child in the stroller, all of us trot towards the entrance of the park. Each pair took custody of a target. Liam and Jen were ahead of us as they were dragged by energetic Maria. Ben and Gwen stopped near the ice-cream stall, with Ben having Mike on his shoulders. These two are really turning from enemies to buddies this fast.

Alex, who was beside me, pushed the stroller. I take a small peep to see the child was sleeping comfortably with a pink beanie on her head and blankets wrapped around her.

As we kept walking towards Liam and Jen, who were laying blankets and picnic baskets on the ground, we stumbled upon an elderly couple.

By stumbled I mean, the elderly woman dropped her purse and I thought it would be nice if I fetch it from the ground for her so she doesn't have to bend to retrieve it. I pass the purse to her as she smiles at me gratefully.

"Thank you dear."

"No problem." And don't call me dear.

She looks over at Alex, then at me. A small yet calm smile make a way to her face.

"You both are such lovely couple."

I choke on my own spit. My eyes widen and snap towards Alex. He had similar expression like me. We both quickly shake our head.

"It's not... he's not..."

"No, she's not...we are not..."

Both I and Alex stumble. What's wrong with my articulation skills?! And what's wrong with Alex's articulation skills as well?! Why does both of our skills have to crash at the same time! But placing myself at the women's place, I see her point. To anyone, we might seems like a family. But how would we be able to correct them? By wearing 'babysitter' batches?
