Elena's POV:

My office. Now.

That's the reply we got from chief as we hurried towards his office. We are already running late and the boys are still fighting over the photo.

I don't understand men.

"You were supposed to send it in private group but oh well," Ben shrugs. Alex glares at both of them muttering something unintelligible under his breath.

On reaching the chief's office, we quickly walk in towards the conference room. Chief sat with his fingers intertwined with his chin resting on it.

On our arrival, he looks up. Jen is still busy with her laptop. Does she never get tired of it? If we go to an ophthalmologist again, he would for sure yell for spoiling her vision.

I walk in and take my seat. The boys sit in front of me. Ben kept poking Alex with his elbow and said something in his ear. Alex looked at me before quickly looking away.

Uh... Okay.

Ben kept poking him, irrespective of being glared. Alex gets frustrated and swats his hand away. They both stop when chief cleared his throat. Then chief diverts his gaze towards me.

"Took your sweet time," he comments about my tardiness. But come on, it was one time. It's not like I am always tardy, I think.

"Fell asleep."

"That's new nonetheless good."

Now that chief pointed it, I just remember I woke up just like everyone else. Not sweating and afraid for once. It's nice to be normal.

"Anyway, let's get down to serious talk. The mission, as I already stated today morning, is not a normal one. It's far more dangerous than the last mission."

"The MacDonald mission," Ben asks.

"The Antonio mission."

On hearing this, Alex stiffens. He clenches his hand before grabbing hold of the glass and gulping down some water. That might look like a casual thing but I can see past that.

"Well, since I made it clear how dangerous the mission is, you can back out now."

"Nah, we are good." Ben says casually showing thumbs up. Dad turns towards me and raises his eyebrow.

"I don't think it would be that big of a problem. We can handle it." I say. We haven't had a good mission since forever. We have been rotting inside agency for a month and a half now. I definitely need a mission to kill the pain of boredom.

On hearing my reply dad smiles. Well, it made me a little suspicious. Don't get me wrong. I have seen dad smile a lot lately. But this seem quite similar to how Ben smiles when he has something on his mind.

"Well, since all of you agreed to the mission," he pauses and opens a folder to grab hold of some papers, "I want you to sign this." He says and passes the paper to Liam and Jen, who sat close to his reach. They pass down the papers to others.

"Sign? Are you tying us to a contract now?"

"I told you the mission is important. I can't take chances," he shrugs nonchalantly. I narrow my eyes.

"What is the mission about?" Alex asks the question.

"It's highly confidential. I can't tell you until you sign."

"No offense chief but I remember you teaching us not to jump in the pit before knowing the dept of it."

I try to hide my smile. Good answer Alex.
