Elena's POV:
"Where is the bit of grey in your blue eyes?"
When those words were displayed on Jennifer's laptop, my heart stopped beating only to start back up twice the normal speed.
"She knows," Jennifer whispered, her voice showing how astonished she was. I snap out of my frozen state as I get myself together.
"Liam, get chief right now! Jayden, divide the groups and assemble them. We are leaving."
"What? Why?" Chief walks in, as he passes the file to agent forty-seven. I look at him for a few seconds as my heart hammers against my lungs.
"Meghan found out. It would take her no time to realise we are watching through Alex's eyes."
"I can gather the team but it might take time," Jayden adds. I check my gun and click them back in its place. I grab two more guns from the drawer, placing one on the side of my jeans and the other in my boot.
"I am leaving," I state as I walk towards the door. Dad holds my arm in a tight grip when I walk past him. He shakes his head while agent forty-seven and my team grabs any ammunition they could carry.
"Don't be reckless. Wait for all the teams that I have appointed to gather. We need to go through the plans."
I step forward, my eyes changing colours as I fist my hand. "Don't give me more reasons to intensify the anger I have on you."
Dad raised an eyebrow. "Was that a threat, daughter?"
"Consider whatsoever you wish, father."
I walk past him as my team quickly follows me. Jennifer stayed back as she is connected with us through comms and will be directing us the way.
I really hope dad quickly assembles the team and sends them behind us. But I have already made my own arrangements. What if these agents don't get there in time? I know they would but I have to be sure that we don't get outnumbered. I grab my phone and text a person who I shouldn't have trusted but I did. I just hope he brings his team for backup as promised.
When I get to my car, I unlock the door as I talk to Jennifer hastily. "Clear the traffic for me, will you?"
"I am already on it."
Just as I start the car, I hear a knock on my window. I turn left and pull the window down and look at agent forty-seven with a blank expression.
"Sir?"
He opens the door and buckles in beside me. He doesn't meet my eyes as they stayed focused on his front. I know I should drive when I noticed Liam already driving with Ben on his side in front of me but my inquisitive eyes stayed on Alex's dad.
"Are you planning to save my son or just stare at me, Agent Eighteen?"
I clear my throat as I shake my head. He usually sticks with my dad's orders more than anyone else. He's the second in command. And watching him here, against dad's commands was slightly shocking.
I quickly pull away from the driveway as I race with the wind. The path is clear with barely any cars. On either side, I see cars waiting for the signal to turn green. I increase the speed, skyrocketing through the highway. Agent forty-seven and I exchanged no words as we kept our thoughts to ourselves.
We reach our destination and I park the car a few blocks away from the warehouse Alex is held, hostage. Liam's car is parked in front of mine which states the boys are already here. I walk out as I noticed Ben and Liam disarming a few men as silently as possible.
We quickly shuffle closer to the old rusted windows of the warehouse. Few dragons were patrolling around the side and it would take them exacting two minutes to return here. I unlock the latch of the window and I swing my leg inside. I pull out my gun instinctively as I point it forward. Darkness greeted me but I could notice a small petite figure hurdled on the side of the room. Ben, Liam and agent forty-seven jumped in. When Ben accidentally hit a side of a crate which was stacked in the corner, it alerted the person.
