Elena's POV:
"Hey! I said to leave the door unlocked, didn't I?" I scowl as I bang the door. Jennifer stood right beside me, rolling her eyes at my behavior. I would have done that too if I saw someone acting so immature like this.
Liam opened the door. The empty silent hallway flooded with Ben's laughs and Alex's angry words. I look over Liam's shoulder in confusion to see it's from Alex's room. Liam nodded once before turning his eyes back on Jen. A casual small smile already makes its way on his face. I roll my eyes at Jen's blushing face.
Who blushes at the tiniest of smile? These love-sick people make me revolt. Thank goodness I don't fall in that category.
I push past Liam into the apartment. The couple kept talking something in hushed whispers. I ignore them and follow the sound from Alex's room. Dad told me, when I reached the agency, that Alex is safe in his apartment for now. Our database doesn't have his address registered, so it's better he stays here until the air clears. But the worse part is, he won't be able to return to the agency. He can through the secret tunnel but if another incident occurs and someone rats him out, we would be in greater trouble. Dad and I got into a little heated conversation when dad said Alex won't return to the agency.
I understand he has a reason behind it. I know. But pushing away someone who has nothing to do with allegations imposed on him is against my conscience.
"For Christ's sake, stop this torture at once!" I hear Alex speak. I couldn't see him since Ben stood in front of him. What's happening?
"Oh come on, it's almost done. A hair clip will do."
"Ben, I am serious—"
"Eye paint, uh—what do we can this as? Eye Shadow? Whatever it is, would you like for me to apply it on your face?" Alex opens his mouth to oppose, but Ben doesn't let him talk as he continues, "Why am I even asking? Of course, I am gonna apply this on you."
"Ben, please—"
"What's happening here?" I ask, stepping into the room. I slightly tilt my head to the left to have a look at Alex, but I couldn't. Ben turned around and beams when he looks at me.
"Elena, meet the new member of the team. Alexandria. Say hi," Ben crackles at his own joke. He moves away, and I finally get to see... Alex-xandria?
Alex was already removing the blonde wig off his head as I try to hinder my smile. An experimentation of make up products, which I didn't even know existed, is caked up on his face. Oh, poor soul.
"Don't Alex. That's my hard work. Dad told me we have to do something, so they don't recognize you."
"That doesn't mean you turn me into a girl!" Alex gritted out as he wiped his face with tissues. Clearly, he had no idea what it would do. The already messed up cosmetics looked disastrous now.
He looks in a mirror and sighs before walking away to the bathroom. I turn towards the television to see it already running. A journalist speaks rapidly on recent breaking news. I fold my arms as I turn my full attention to her. Let's see if the media has a speck of doubt on us.
"With the broadcast being hacked this morning, the cybersecurity is trying their best to locate the source of the hacker. Though we know the infamous Meghan Esposito, who declared to be the daughter of Antonio Esposito, has her hand behind this, the detectives and agents are trying to catch her. We have been informed—"
I switch the channel. The next channel had the van driver on the television. They interviewed him about the recent accident.
"According to sources, we were informed that the school van met with an accident during the chase between the cops and the criminal, Alexander Esposito. What do you have to say about this?"
