Y/n made it back just in time to see the end of Asta's match. Her ash haired childhood friend sliced through the crystal with his sword, that had been hiding in Sol's rock golem. It resulted in his team's victory

"Aww, I completely missed it," Y/n sighed watching as Mimosa talked to her brother.

"It wasn't anything worth watching," Hoshi scoffed, settling on her shoulder. The h/c haired girl rolled her eyes and flicked him off. The brown haired sylph squealed as he spiraled away.

Asta was her best friend. Of course she wanted to support him, even if they may end up fighting one another in the competition.

The next match was Team E versus Team G. Another sibling battle between Langris and Finral. But something was unsettling to Y/n.  She didn't know much about the Roulacase family. From what Nala has told her, they were pretty strict with their sons about upholding their family image.

"We had a dinner with their family once when I was maybe 11 or 12," Nala had told her one night they were up late in their room. The red haired girl let out an annoyed huff, twirling one of her dreadlocks around her finger. "It was super weird. That Langris guy was really unsettling. It was almost as if he were looking down on us the entire time. My brothers and I were actually silent during dinner for once."

But the air between Langris and Finral seemed tense, as if there were bad blood between them.

As soon as the fight began, Langris instantly targeted his brother and his team's crystal. "Here they come," Leo called. "As we planned, Finral, deal with that crazy spatial magic of his."

Langris had a devious smirk. He raised his hand, preparing an attack. "I'll finish this in one fell swoop-" The spatial attack spiraled towards the crystal. However, before it could make contact, it suddenly dispersed. The younger brother grit his teeth in annoyance. "What-"

"We confirmed it with Cobb earlier, but when two spatial mages collide, the flow of mana crashes and cancels each other out," Finral explained.

With Hamon's glass magic, he found the opponent's crystal in a tower on the other side of the field. He and Leo went on the offensive. While they fought against the mage's icy terrain, Finral was left to deal with his brother by himself.

The fight between brothers went back and forth. It remained at a bit of standstill as each spatial mage's attack cancelled out the other.

"I never thought that you would be my natural weakness, brother," Langris taunted, sending another barrage of attacks. Finral's magic countered them before they could damage the crystal. "Do you plan to keep defending until our crystal is destroyed? Do you think you can hold out until then?"

"Probably not," Finral admitted. "Which is why, I'm going to have to use a new attack."

Finral conjured what looked like just a blob of magic. He sent it towards Finral and Sekke, but the attack moved so slow that one could easily dodge it. But, the spell was a homing attack and only continued to follow the two until it hit Sekke, making him disappear.

"Spatial magic Angel's Fluttering Wings, anyone who touches it is forcefully teleported to a different place," Finral explained. He wasn't the strongest and couldn't use his magic in the same way his brother could, therefore, he had to develop his own technique. "I don't want to hurt you, so I'm going to remove you from here with this magic."

His elder brother's proclamation made Langris laugh. "You...are worrying about me? You always find a way to irritate me to no end brother...and now, I never thought even your new spell is like my spatial ace." The younger's grimoire began to illuminate with an ominous glow. "I can't believe you're forcing me to use my grimoire."
