8: introductions...?

Yuno didn't think twice about the Crimson Lions or the Black Bulls assisting them on the dungeon quest. Although they were the squads of his two childhood best friends, Yuno honestly didn't anticipate seeing either on the mission.

He also couldn't wrap his mind around the sight of Y/n.

She looked... grown. A mature young lady rather than the timid child who wouldn't let go of your hand.

The sight of her in person for the first time in several months, dressed in her squad's uniform, made his heart throb.

"Goddamnit Y/n, you said you wouldn't cry," her familiar squad member, Nala maybe, sighed.

"I'M NOT CRYING!" Y/n insisted as she rubbed her eyes.

Her spell landed on the ground. The moment it did, the h/c haired girl jumped over the side of the chariot and ran into Yuno's arms. If he wasn't paying attention, Y/n would've knocked him over.

"You're causing a scene," Yuno deadpanned, keeping his usual cool demeanor.

"I know!" Y/n cheered. She squeezed him tightly one last time before letting go. Nala sighed.

"Y/N!" Asta shouted. He jumped towards the girl going for the hug when all of a sudden a large gust of wind blew him into the back wall. Yuno glared at the ash-blond while Y/n sweatdropped at his over protective nature.

"Nice to see you again too, Asta," Y/n said with a smile.

The Golden Dawn member with the glasses cleared his throat. "Sorry to interrupt the reunion, but we're running low on time," the megane said.

"Oh you're right," Y/n said sheepishly rubbing the back of her head.

"This is why Nala told you not to get to emotional, you troublesome loud mouthed woman," Hoshi sighed. He flew out of Y/n's pocket with his arms crossed.

"I'll clip your wings," Y/n hissed.

"Anyway!" Nala interrupted with a joyful laugh. She wrapped her arm around Y/n's shoulders putting her in a small chokehold. "Let's do quick introductions! I'm Nala Arenuma. This right here is Y/n and her sylph, the star spirit Hoshi. We're proud members of the Crimson Lions."

The glasses wearing male merely scoffed. "We have to complete this mission before the Diamond Kingdom becomes aware of the dungeon's location. We need to reach the deepest area to find the treasure hall. There's no need for us to be slowed down by people like you."

"People like us, huh?" Nala said with a sickeningly sweet smile. She unintentionally tightened her grip around Y/n making the h/c haired girl suffocate.

"Yuno, who the hell is this rude four-eyes?" Asta questioned.

"My senior," responded the wind mage.

"Four-eyes! How dare you refer to me, a noble, in such a way!"

"Shrimpy's only stating the truth, four-eyes," Nala said bluntly.

"As cut throat as always, Nala," the only female member of the Golden Dawn sighed. Nala studied her for a minute before a smile spread across her face.

"Oh, it's you Mimosa! I didn't know you were coming. How's Nox-nii san? He hasn't burn down the place has he?"

"Nox is Nox," Mimosa nervously chuckled. Nala sighed.

"I take that as imma have to beat his ass the next time I see him," said the Arenuma.

"Wait, you two know each other?" The silver haired Black Bull girl asked.
