Dawn just started to break when Y/n and Yuno made it back to the hotel. As the sun started to creep into the sky, civilians hesitantly stepped outside, surprised by the lack of red moon so early in the morning.

For yuno, every step he took hurt his abdomen. Their fight took a greater toll on his body than he realized. Y/n was exhausted. All her mana was depleted. She was also mentally drained. The Mirror of Truth made her realize how difficult it was to face reality. All the problems and issues she tried to suppress only hurt more to deal with after ignoring them for so long. She was thankful at least that when facing the truth, as ugly as it was, Yuno was still there for her.

Shin's words did confuse her just a bit. "A couple of lost children?" What did he mean by that? Was he referencing the fact that both Y/n and Yuno were orphaned since they were babies or did it mean something else.

"Y/n," Yuno called.

"Hm?" The h/c-ette snapped out of her thoughts.

"You're spacing out. Are you ok?"

Y/n smiled, grabbing his hand. "Yeah. I am."

They arrived back at their hotel. Once they got back to their room, they were instantly attacked by the two sylphs.

"YUNO!" belle cried.

"WHAT THE HELL! HAPPENED TO YOU TWO?!" Hoshi yelled in Y/n's ear.

"Glad to see you were worried about us," Y/n teased.

"Of course you troublesome woman! You both were gone for nearly eight hours! How could we not be concerned?!"

Y/n chuckled. As much of a tsundere the brown haired sylph was, he truly did care about them.

The next hour the two spent showering and treating their wounds. Thankfully, nothing was serious. Mostly some bruising that resulted in aching. Hoshi and Belle pestered their partners about what happened outside, but they didn't go into much detail. Some things were better left only known to the two of them. It's their truth to deal with anyway.

"Let's head to the rendezvous point," Yuno said, throwing on his cloak. "We can't waste anymore time and miss the target."

They checked out of the hotel and quickly left Akatsuchi Village. After three hours of walking, with nothing but Belle and Hoshi's bickering filling the silence, Yuno and Y/n arrived at a bridge. The bridge connected two sides of a large chasm. A clear rushing river ran below.

"Is this the place?" Y/n asked.

"That's what it said on the map," Yuno said.

"How do we know the informant will even show?" Hoshi said. "We could just be wasting our time."

"The mission report said they're arriving today at 1pm," Yuno said, unfolding the paper. Y/n looked over his shoulder at the writing. "We're an hour early, so we can just wait it out."

"Ugh. So boring," Hoshi complained.

Y/n rolled her eyes. "Just go to sleep like you always do."

Not too long later, he did just that. Belle fell asleep as well, curled up underneath Yuno's neck. It irked Y/n just a bit but as long as she was quiet.

Although the events of last night drained her, the h/c-ette found its hard to relax. She leaned against Yuno's shoulder, staring up at the passing clouds. Beside her, the male sat silently. He conjured up wind in his hand and flicked it upwards, hitting the branches. A few leaves rained down.

"North and I think my magic might be derived from wind magic." Yuno looked over at Y/n as she searched for the book the noble gave her. She showed him a dirty looking book that had pages falling out of it. His eye twitched in confusion.
