The Epitome of Disaster

Dumaan ang oras at pangatlong araw na agad ng festival. Ever since that day, I never once met Elliot again nor his shadow. I feel bad, I guess I really am the worst. That day, rumors spread like wildfire and when the two girls heard the rumors they couldn't stop themselves and asked me what happened so I told them hanggang sa dulo. When I told them I once rejected Elliot again despite everything he has done for me, napailing-iling na lang sila. 

"You know what Roth, that was really a stupid move." Kumento ni Rowena at tinutok sa'kin ang kumikislap sa ganda na kuko nito sa hintuturo. "I saw him proved his love for you everyday, sound cheesy I know pero that day you were confined and in state of coma? He never left by your side."

"I agree with Rowena, kahit pa sabihin mong you really don't have any feelings for him, you shouldn't be that harsh to him." Naiiling na dagdag pa ni Jean. "Have you ever said thanks to him?" Napayuko na lamang ako at hindi nakasagot.

"You're the worst, I can't believe you didn't even said thanks to him!" Hindi mapigilan na muling sambit ni Rowena na mas lalong ikinayuko ko. "I bet you don't have any plans on saying sorry to him." Dagdag nito sabay irap sa ere.

"'One should not be perfect' ika nga," natatawang kumento ni Jean at sumandal sa upuan. "Roth already got the looks, intelligence, and of course the talent! It would be too unfair kung maganda pa personality n'ya." Pagbibiro nito dahilan para matawa silang dalawa.

"But you know what Roth, you're really unbelievable." Nabaling naman ang atensiyon ko kay Rowena nang magsalita ito. "Biruin mo that's already a Langston ah? The holder of the first seat at that! The King! Isipin mo 'yung yaman na meron pamilya n'ya and don't you ever deny it! He also got the talent, the looks, and the intelligence! Hindi ko alam sa'yo at palagi mong nire-reject kung napaka-halata naman sa mukha n'ya at sa kinikilos n'ya na sa'yo lang s'ya interesado!" 

"I bet he wouldn't mind it kung sasabihin mong gagamitin mo s'ya just so he could be with you anywhere and everywhere." Muling kumento ni Jean at tumawa.

"Ay sis true!" Pagkunsinti pa ni Rowena. "Noah is so whipped sa'yo, kung ako 'yan matagal nang naging kami." Kumunot ang noo ko sa sinabi ni Rowena, I know she's just kidding but I didn't liked what she said.

I saw Jean from my peripheral view as she sips her tea but her observant eyes never left mine. "You know what Roth, you should've been honest with yourself. With that attitude, you could've lost a person."

"Why? Didn't she already lost Noah?" The tea cup made a sound as Jean put it down on the saucer.

"Hmmm, I don't know about that." Jean answered as she mischievously smiled. "Just one move from Roth, I bet he will be whipped once again."

On the third day of the festival, half-day lang ang itinayong cafe dahil may mas malaking event pa raw ang festival and for sure lahat ng studyante ay 'yon ang inaantay. I put my cold hands inside my pockets as I wait for the two, may pupuntahan daw kasi kami at habang papunta sa pupuntahan namin ay na-distract ang nag-aya. I chuckled at Rowena as I watch her happily jog towards me with two sticks of cotton candies on her hand. Inabot n'ya sa'kin ang isa at malugod ko naman itong tinanggap.

"Saan ba tayo pupunta?" Tanong ko.

"This is the main event of the fest! Ito 'yung pinakaaantay ng lahat 'no!" Excited na sagot sa'kin ni Rowena na ikinakunot ko lamang ng noo.
