"that's where i sit. I just have to go buy my lunch and then i'll meet ya there." Cristina said and left as Meredith nodded.

It was lunch. She had got 4 periods down for the day. She walked over to the table and sighed. She got her paper bag out and started to pull out her things for lunch. She hadn't brought any money and school lunches were always the worst. But they did have something called a student store here.

She took a bite of her turkey sandwich and closed her eyes. Turkey sanwich's were so good and one of her favorites. It also had provolone cheese, tomatos, and pesto sauce.

She sensed a presance and opened her eyes to look into those piercing blue eyes.

"Oh uh..." She said nervously

"sorry...i just...you looked cute with your closed like that...it looks...pleasure-ful" He said and shook his head at his own wierdness

"Yeah...it's good" She said

"So, i see you're eating alone, can i take a seat?" He asked cautiosly

"Sure you can, but i am not eating alone"

"Now you're not" He smiled taking a bite of his bagel

"haha...no, my new friend is sitting her too" She said and suddenly realized that that looked a little wierd... and he looked down the table and back with a quizzical look on his face

"oh no, i don't mean invisible...no i mean...she is buying lunch...no...no...i am not crazy and alone..."

"although it feels like it..." she said under her breath...

"what?" he said

"nothing" She said quickly

"Ok...well...can i ask what your name is?"

"yeah, i'm Meredith Grey" She held out her hand

"Derek Shepard" He took her hand. They both felt an imidiate force or something as they looked up into eachothers eyes and got lost in them. Her, in his piercing blue eyes and He, in her see of green.

"oh come on Meredith, please don't tell me you're interested in this stupid head

Meredith and Derek snapped out of it and Meredith turned to see Cristina who plopped down next to her

"Oh sorry, Hey Derek, sorry, this is Cristina-" But she stopped as Derek half glared at Cristina

"Yeah Cristina Yang, i know her..."

"Yeah yeah, Meredith-" She started to act like he wasn't there as she turned to Meredith

"Hey Meredith-" Meredith turned to him

"Hey, Stupid head! i'm talking!" Cristina said

"Excuse me, but i was just going to say that i was going to leave" Derek said

"oh no, Derek you don't have to" Meredith said

"you serious Mer?" Crsitina said

"I'm just going to go" He said and got up adn left. Meredith groaned and turned to Cristina

"What the hell! He was handsome and i liked him and...why?!"

"Mer, you don't want to get to know him. He will screw up your life in ways you can't even imagine. Also, his friends will too...especially a guy named Mark..." She trailed off

"Hey Cristina, i'm not going to ask why you loathe him and his friends but i will say this. Wea re different people, maybe he like me...maybe whatever he did to you, he won't do to me" Meredith finished
