Red Over Individuality

When you look at those lips... what color do you see?
Those lips aren't actually red.
Then why do we think they are red?
Why didn't any other colors come into mind?
Even when its a photo from a makeup photo shoot, not an ordinary photo.
The simple reason is.
Its because red is the most common lipstick color.
People talk about Individuality, but the lipstick they usually end up putting on their lips is red.
We wanted to start a conversation about the uniformity of makeup.
I want people to think about why this photo would be considered red.
And why we always choose red for the color of our lips.
And why we look at everyone putting on the same kind of makeup and consider it to be an expression of their individuality.
I want to challenge steriotypes.
If we really put on makeup to express individuality for our own satisfaction...
Then you wouldnt have thought the lipstick in the photo was red.
But right now, the lips in that photo...
Appear to be, above all, an intense red.
That's all.
