Chapter 20

Kat couldn't believe what she'd just heard. Out of everyone from the group Ashton seemed the least likely to get into any trouble. "But why, i mean what happened?" A wave of confusion and worry flashed through Kat's body.

"I don't know did you hear me ask all of that?" Luke was clearly agitated and didn't even want to talk about it.

As soon as they pulled into the police station parking lot Luke darted towards the entrance. When they got inside they saw Kat's mom. "Mum what happened, why did he get arrested?"

Kat's mom let out a frustrated sigh, "Something about a fight, i haven't gotten the full details yet, but nothing too serious."

"It was serious enough for him to be arrested and put in jail." Luke mumbled under his breath getting angrier than he was before. "Well if it wasn't that serious then why did he get arrested?"

"From what i know the guy was pretty banged up and he's not in jail just a holding cell."

An officer walked up to them, "He's free to go now. The man decided not to press charges after all."

Ashton walked out of the office looking as if he spent his whole life in jail cell. "That was a horrible experience."

"Well just be glad i decided against calling your mother. Hopefully this doesn't go on your record maybe i could figure something out." Kat's mom rubbed the temples of her head as if she had a forming headache. " What is wrong with you boys, if i knew you would be this much trouble i would have never signed you!"

"It's not my fault, he deserved it."

"And why was that?"

Kat looked at Ashton almost as if she was pleading for him not to tell her anything.

"It was nothing okay it was just a fight and it doesn't even matter anymore can we just drop it."

"You know what, all of you are probation until further notice." Kat's mom started to walk away.

"Wait what does that mean?" Kat asked concerned not for herself but more for Like and Ashton.

" It means they are this close to being dropped from my record label and until I figure out if they are worth the troy me they will get no work done, do you understand me you two?"
Ashton just looked at the floor , he was upset but upset at his self more than anyone. "uh Luke can I get a ride home or whatever."Ashton asked looking at the floor.
Luke rolled his and continued to walk. "It's whatever man."

Kat walked alongside Luke just wanting to go back to Max's house.
"Kat you're going home with me."
"Wait I was going to go back to Max's house though."

"No you're going home this was already too much for today." Kat's mom tried to pull her along.

"But I was planning on staying there for the rest of the week."

Kat's mom look exhausted. " You know what do whatever you want I don't care, I'm too tired at this point."

"Well I guess I'll drop you off then."

Kat, Luke, and Ashton walked to Luke's car.

Once Luke started to drive Kat was contemplating on whether or not she wanted to say anything.
"So um-"
"Kat, don't I'm not in the mood right now."
Kat just looked down at her lap as the sat and ride in silence.
