Katrina's pov

I looked around very nervously, it was my first day at Bridge View and the amount of unfamiliar faces was unsettling to say the least. It's already bad enough i'm starting three days late, and now I have no idea where to go. The first thing I notice was everyone's clothes, everyone was so different than me, it was pretty apparent that i was the outlier. I immediately regret my outfit choice for the first day. I looked at my outfit that consists of black ripped skinny jeans, a black tank top, black beanie, it was like i was a huge void in the middle of a plush pink wonderland. I looked around and saw girls all dressed up in skirts and high heels and make up and really over the top hair, every where you looked you saw big bouncy curls. I looked at my shoulder length hair, bone straight and dull...Maybe I should have put some sort of curl or wave in it. I stand there criticizing my outfit choice not noticing how much of an utter fool I looked standing here like this. I quickly take out my schedule and started looking for any sense of direction.

"Um, you look lost, need any help?" I snap out of my self judgmental trance and turn around to see a pretty 5 foot something hazel eyed curly haired girl. She looked so similar yet so different from everyone's over the top-ness at this school, it was weird. She was dressed in a nice flowey blouse and a baby blue skirt that really made her light brown skin pop.

"Oh, erm yeah I'm new here." I say quietly, as if it wasn't obvious enough with me standing like a bobbling idiot in the middle of a crowd.
"Oh so your the new girl from England,  Katrina Woods right? "
"Y-yeah." I stuttered out, caught off guard, "How do you know my name?" "Well I'm Maxine but people call me Max. I'm on the welcoming committee so it's my duty to know all transfers in my graduating class. I just so happen to be your student ambassador!" She was very cheery and happy, it was a nice feeling.
"So, I'll be one to show you around and help you make friends, looks like you've already made one," She winks at me smiling referring to herself.

" Uh, I can also inform you on teachers, clubs, activities, things of that nature! Anything you need help with in your girl. I've been involved in this school so long, since I was just a child actually. I know it like the back of my hand."

"A child?" I question.

"My dads the principal. I basically grew up here" she shrugs.
" Well anyway, now that I think about it I think your the only new person this year, besides incoming freshmen of course." I groaned at her comment. "Great there goes the making friends part..."I muttered under my breath not sure if Max heard me but I hoped she didn't. It's just easier to start over with new people. You're both new, you know nothing about the school, you figure it out together, it's all good. But that won't be my case now will it.

"You'll be fine, this year will be great trust me and like I said you already have one friend so your off to a great start."

"Sure, whatever you say."I said a bit more sarcastic than I should have. That's a little problem that I have. I'm never sure when people can detect my sarcasm but i'm always sarcastic. It's dreadful and now she's going to think I have an attitude problem or something.

Way to go Karina.

"Well, okay" she gives off a little fake laugh.
"Can I see your schedule so I can show you your classes? "Max asked with a polite smile.
Why is she being so nice considering I was so rude a few moments ago? Or maybe she did detect my sarcasm? Why the hell am I over thinking this again?
"Oh, sure." I handed her my schedule and she examined it. "Looks like we have all the same classes and the same periods except one and thats literature. "Oh, ok then. That's odd." I say.

"What's odd?" Max starts to walk towards the building and I hurriedly shuffle behind her like some sort of lost puppy.
"Oh, nothing! Just the fact that the only person Ive met here I have all the same classes with."
