Chapter 23

"Welcome back to hell everyone." Mr.White said on the first day back from break. It honestly felt like hell. Kat could barley keep her eyes open and Max was next to her sound asleep on her desk.

Kat looked over and saw Max sleeping. She nudged her to try to wake her up but she got no response from her but a grunt. She nudged her again, no response. She smacked her on her arm.
Max shot up and yelled "There's murder afoot!"
Kat looked over at Max "What man?"

"And that's three days detention for you Maxine."
Mr.White said writing down a complicated looking problem on the board.
"Great..." Max said taking her notebook out to write out the problem.

"Man I am just so ready to be out of school." Michael said stiring the food on his tray together.

"Relax it's already January the school year is going by really fast of you ask me." Kat said with her head on the table.

"Hey guys." Jazlyn sat at their table. "Hey why haven't you been answering any messages?" Kat asked raising her head off the table.
"Oh, I was kinda in trouble no biggie."

"You? In trouble?" Max asked smiling.

"Yes Max, even I get in trouble. It was really stupid though."

"What happened?" Ashton asked.

"Oh nothing really, Cherish was being really stupid and told my parents that I bought dinner the other day and they went on this whole rant about being responsible with money and crap like that." Jazlyn shrugged her shoulders wanting to dismiss the subject.

"Why do your parents get all butt hurt about you spending money? Especially since you spend your owns now?" Luke asked

"I don't know but can we just drop it? What's been going on with you guys?"

"Well yesterday I pet a cat and it was a really cute cat." Michael said proudly.

"Shut up Michael." Ashton rolled his eyes.

"Listen don't get mad at me because you're allergic to cats okay. Don't hate the player, hate the game." Michael flipped his hair in a sassy way.

"You guys are too much." Jazlyn laughed. "But I guess I should be getting ready for my next class." She got up and brushed off her dress.

"Wait we can walk to class together." Kat got up and walked alongside Jazlyn.

Once they were out the noisy cafeteria and in the oddly quiet hallway Kat decided to ask a question that had been bugging her.

"So um, remember how your sister told us you over spent on your debit card or something like that?"

Jazlyn frowned. "I mean it was more like withdrawing too much money but yeah."

"Well do you mind me asking what did you spend all that money on, I mean you just acted like it was a big deal kinda."

Jazlyn let out a long sigh. "Okay but if I tell you, you have to promise not to judge me or tell anyone."

Kat shrugged, "sure."

"The money was for drugs."
