Y/N POV

"You're room looks even better in person!" Emilia gasps as she opens her eyes in the middle of my bedroom.

"Better than my one back in London, huh?"

"Definitely. That place was not great." She grimaces, recalling the tiny, run-down flat I had lived in.

"I was 18, living in council housing on benefits because my parents kicked me out. Of course it wasn't great. Could've been worse though."

Emilia makes a noise of agreement and dumps her bag on my bed, moving to wander around my room, taking everything in.

"I remember this! We had been out all night and managed to persuade the kebab man to let us in his van and cook some chips!"

Em points at the photo of us standing with the man that's stuck up on my wall and we both dissolve into giggles at the memory.

My stomach lets out a loud rumble and we both stop our giggles, just to fall into another fit.

"That was like a whale!"

"I literally woke up when you rang me, okay? I haven't eaten yet."

"Well then let's go get some food. I could eat."

"Okay, wait. Friday?"

"No, it's Saturday."

"How can I help you, Y/n?" Friday's voice rings through the room and Em's eyes widen as she peers around for the source of the sound.

"Are Natasha and Wanda still in the building?"

"No. They left around fifteen minutes ago. Would you like to be alerted when they return?"

"Yes, thank you, Friday."

"That shit crazy. Is it a real person?" Em murmurs.

"No, dipshit. It's an Ai. It's just a computer. Now come on I need to eat!"

The kitchen is empty when we arrive on the floor below. Em and I each make a sandwich, chatting about memories from previous nights out. Once we finish, I shove the plates into the dishwasher and we wander back out to the corridor.

As the elevator pings open, Tony marches past us, men carrying various pieces of equipment filing out behind him to prepare for the party tonight.

"Look's like the elevators busy. Come on we'll take the stairs."

"Ugh. Why do you walk everywhere when you can teleport."

"Because I'm not lazy?"

We reach my bedroom and get ready to go shopping. Tying my hair up in a loose ponytail, I curl my eyelashes, not wanting to apply any more makeup since I would just be taking it off and reapplying later.

I change into denim shorts, tucking in a baggy white t-shirt and layering a large checkered shirt over the top. Em was dressed in a similar outfit, but with a black denim skirt and a grey shirt and black converse. Her chocolate brown hair was brushed over her shoulders, curling down her back.
