WANDA POV

The sound of heavy techno music intrudes my dream and I slowly awake, squinting my eyes to adjust to my surroundings.

The clock above the door reads half noon. I don't remember finally falling asleep but it wasn't until the sunrise started to peer through the curtains.

Y/n was no longer curled into my chest, the covers have been drawn up to my chin and a stuffed teddy nestled in my arms.

I try to strain my ears over the music coming from outside to see if I can hear any sign of Y/n moving around but swiftly give up, pushing the covers back and swinging my legs onto the floor, bringing the teddy with me.

Shuffling into the main room, my shoulders drop as I find it empty, Y/n nowhere in sight. I spot my phone on the kitchen counter and unlock it, noticing I have two texts.

one hour ago

Y/n🥰
gone for a walk, help yourself to anything you need x
p.s. i know you don't like waking up alone so i hope reggie helped :) x

I can't help but smile, glancing down at the teddy still in my hand. At least she's up and out the house, I guess? I only left my bed the week after Pietro died to visit her in the hospital. Mmm, maybe I should be worried?

Not wanting to be the weird, clingy friend, I push past the thought and open the second message.

eight hours ago

Nat🕷
hey, i don't know where you
guys are but maybe best to stay
there for a while. i don't know
how fury is going to react,
let alone hydra.
will text when
i know it's safe.
i hope y/n is okay x

I lock my phone, deciding not to reply to Nat just yet. Setting the teddy over on the sofa, I turn back to the kitchen as my stomach begins to growl.

Upon inspection, I find the cupboards and fridge stocked with my favourite foods and snacks. Y/n must've gone shopping before I woke up. I fix myself a bowl of cereal, grabbing my phone and flopping onto the sofa, opening TikTok.

Three hours had passed when I next look at the time, my cereal long finished and a bag of peanuts open in my lap. Y/n still wasn't back.

My stomach begins to turn as anxiety sets in, my mind reeling over where she could be.

Switching from TikTok to my call log, I press Y/n's name and throw my phone in frustration when it goes straight to voicemail.

*Okay. It's okay. She took down that whole facility. She's fine.*

Retrieving my phone from the floor, I see it's about to die and rush to the bedroom, sighing with relief when I spot a charger beside the bed. I plug it in and check the ringer is on loud before returning to the sofa, this time grabbing the remote, hoping tv will pass the time.
