WANDA POV

Sliding into my chair at the table, I start scooping vegetables onto my plate, heavily aware of Y/n's empty seat opposite me.

Steve, Nat, Bucky and Sam are all engaged in a conversation about some grand conspiracy theory Sam had brought up. Tony must be having dinner with Pepper tonight.

"Where's Y/n?" I interrupt and everyone glances between me and the vacant space at the table, all of them only now realising I was there and the English girl was not.

"Oh, uh. Training, I think? But anyway, I agree with Sam for once." Natasha responds dismissively, immediately returning to the discussion.

"Nat, really? I thought more of you." Steve scoffs.

"Alright old man, just because my mind isn't completely closed off to anything different than what the world conditioned us to think a hundred years ago. We've fought literal ALIENS and you can't believe mermaids exist?"

"LOOK AT THE PICTURES!" Sam yells, forcing his phone beneath Steve's face to show him a photo.

"I agree with Steve, it's absurd." Bucky chimes.

"Of course you do! Bunch of old b-"

"You think? When did you last see her?" I cut Nat off, interrupting them again.

"This morning when I did my training, so around ten, eleven?"

"I saw her in there before dinner." Steve comments and the food on my plates suddenly appears a lot less appealing as I feel my appetite drift away.

I spend the rest of dinner pushing broccoli in circles, the chatter of the team a mere buzz behind the resounding thoughts of Y/n swarming my head. Somethings bothering her bad to be in the training room all day.

She's clearly going through something and all I want to do is hold her tight and make it all disappear as she does for me.

But part of me is too scared to even approach it again in case she pushes me away altogether. Because then I'll have nothing. No Y/n and no Piet-

My chair scrapes against the floor as I abruptly stand and, not bothering to clear my plate, I walk out the kitchen without a word to the others.

Reaching my bedroom door, I turn to face Y/n's, debating whether or not to knock. I raise my fist and hesitantly knock three times, sighing when I get no response. She must still be in the training room. Or just completely vanished, as she has been recently.

Entering my room, I slump down onto the bed, curling up on my side and unlocking my phone, deciding to watch Netflix distract myself enough from the y/h/c to possibly get some sleep.

I instantly have to pause the episode of The Office I had just started due to a knock at the door. My heart quickens and I throw my hand out to open the door with my powers but I can't help but feel disappointed at the sight of Natasha strolling towards me, the hope of it being Y/n vanishing completely.

"Hey, you okay? You left dinner quite suddenly."

"Yeah, I'm fine. Just tired."

Nat sits on the edge of the bed and I push myself up beside her, fiddling with the rings on my fingers as I wait for her to say whatever she had come to discuss.

"What's going on with you and Y/n? Have you spoken to her since she came back from Emilia's?"

"Yeah, I heard her go down to the training room early this morning and I followed her. She made these amazing figures with her powers and created this beautiful galaxy that spanned the entire ceiling of the room! I couldn't help but gasp and that's when she noticed me, then apologised for ditching me."
