Y/N POV

A tickling sensation against my eyes and cheeks pulls me from my dreamless sleep and the more consciousness I gain, I realise the disturbance is Wanda pressing kisses all over my face.

I must have turned over at some point in the night as I was now facing her, our legs and arms entwined around each other under a mess of blankets on the living room floor. Wanda's bare skin felt like silk against mine, radiating warmth that threatened to pull me back into my slumber.

I let out a low groan, wriggling closer to the Sokovian and clenching my eyes shut, not ready to wake up yet. Wanda continues her trail across my face until I finally squint my eyes open frowning at her, only to discover the other girl is just as dozy as me with only a sliver of emerald visible through hooded lids as she slowly blinks at me.

Without a word, she pulls me further into her and presses a kiss on my lips. It's soft, clumsy and full of sleep, last night's urgency replaced with tenderness.

"Good morning." She mumbles sleepily, her breath warm against my mouth. I try to say it back but it comes out as an unintelligible grumble and Wanda giggles, giving me another peck.

"We probably have a couple of hours before they expect us back, is there anything, in particular, you want to do?"

I let out another groan at the reminder of returning to the compound and burying my head into her neck, squeezing her tighter.

"I don't want to go back. Want to stay here."

"Me too, детка (baby), but we have to."

"We could run away and find a little house in the forest. We can sit by the fire and read and grow vegetables in the garden. And we'll have a cat."

"A cat?"

"Yeah. Called Keith. I've always wanted a cat."

"Well as amazing as that sounds, I think we would probably end up with a massive bounty on our heads. I don't think they'd let us go very easily."

"A girl can dream." I sigh, rolling out of Wanda's embrace and dragging myself out of the blanket fort.

When I return from the bathroom, Wanda was sat against the sofa, eyebrows furrowed at her phone with an expression that made me freeze in my tracks.

"What is it?"

"Text from Nat. She says Fury wants us back asap. Something about regulation."

"Already? But it's like six am there? And regulation? What the fuck is that supposed to mean?"

"I'm not sure, probably something to do with two super humans being out of their sight. You know how scared the Americans get over power."

I stay silent remaining stood where I am, both of us staring at each other for a moment. With a sigh, we both start reluctantly clearing away the blanket fort and tidying up the living room before gathering the small number of things we had with us to take back.

Heading into the headroom, I throw on a top and some joggers and hand Wanda the same from my wardrobe. I begin picking up our abandoned clothes from last night, waiting for Wanda to leave to go into the other room.

Hearing the bathroom door click shut, I slip my notebook out from under the bed where I had tucked it away earlier in the week. I wasn't ready to leave it behind just yet. Stuffing it into a bag along with my suit, headphones and Reggie, I put on my shoes and go to find Wanda.

She's leant against the kitchen counter, her hand rummaging inside a packet of cereal.

"Ready?" She asks with a mouth full of granola.
