His POV:
Seeing her things half-packed feels like I've been shot for a million times. I can't believe that I had to let her go in a snap.
I remember the first time I laid my eyes on her, the first day with her, the day I knew I like her, the day we made love for the first time, the day that I knew I have already fallen for her.
And I will never forget the day she told me she loves me, too.
I thought I already had her, I thought she's already completely mine.
"Pierce, I don't wanna go."I heard her cry as I sit at the corner of the house we shared. The house that eventually became her home. The house where she became my home.
"We already talked about this, Meryl. I don't wanna be the reason why you're family will be ruined and I want what's best for you, and leaving me, leaving this place is what's best for you."I explained without even looking at her because I know that the more I look at her, the more that the two of us will shatter.
"You are what's best for me, Pierce, I know that."She retorted and I saw her kneeling in front of me with tears running from her beautiful eyes.
"You just think that I am what's best for you."I said, still trying my best to look away from her.
"Pierce, babe."Meryl cried once again and her forehead met my chest.
"I love you, Pierce. I love you."She whispered, hugging me tight and I rested my head on top of hers.
"I love you more than anything, Mary Louise. Always remember that."I whispered as I run my fingers through her hair.
"I-I don't have to leave. I can just call my friends, th-they can stop the company from publishing the article."Meryl suddenly uttered as she pull back and I shook my head.
"Meryl, Meryl, listen to me."I said as I cup her face and my forehead met hers.
"Daniel is still a powerful guy. Even if you ask for help, I'm sure he'll do everything just for that article to be released."I explained.
"I know it hurts. It hurts as hell because I have to let you go and I love you, I love you so much, but loving someone like you have it's price, my love."I said almost whisper.
"This hurts the both of us, and if I have a choice, I will not let you go, too, but think about your family, okay?No matter how horrible they are, they are still your family."I added and she once again broke down crying before burying her face on my neck.
"I will be unhappy, Pierce."She whispered and I slowy carried her to my lap, hugging her tight.
"Don't you want me to be happy?"Meryl asked and that made me let out a deep sigh.
"I want to make you happy, Meryl, I really do. I want to be the man who'll make you happy every single day and not get tired of it, but think about the consequences if you stayed here with me."I answered and she just kept on crying.
I held her in my arms as I feel my tears freely fall down my cheeks and I closed my eyes thinking about the way I held her the night before knowing that she's leaving.
"I love you, Meryl. I love you so much. I will always be here for you."I whispered and I pressed my lips on her forehead, letting it settle there for I know that this is the last time that I'll have her in my arms.
Her POV:
One minute I'm happy, another minute I found the man I truly love, and the next minute I had to leave him.
But do I really need to leave him? Can I just be a selfish be bitch and ruin my family's company.
"Let me help you with Meryl's bags."I heard Pierce utter as I stand beside Daniel's car.
