"Time of death: 11:11PM..."

"I'm sorry, mr. and mrs. Brosnan, we couldn't save your son..."

It's been a month. It's been a month since their world just went crashing down. Their baby boy that they have been waiting for so long just spent eleven years with them.

"Do you need anything else?"He asked as him and his wife finish another silent dinner.

"Uhmm, no. I'll wash the dishes, you can rest now."He answered as she stand up from her seat.

He let out a sigh as he watch her do the dishes without saying anything. He stared at her and he misses her. She feels so near yet so far. They've been distant since their son died and clearly, they are handling the grief process differently.

"Hey."He whispered as he gently hug her from behind.

"Do you uhmm...do you need anything?"She asked almost a whisper.

"I miss you."He whispered.

"I'm telling this not because I wanna do it but I really do miss you, my love."He added but she didn't say anything. She just wiped her hands instead before unwrapping his arm around her waist that made him let out a deep sigh.

"Are we going to be this for the rest of our lives?"He courageously asked before she can even walk away from the kitchen that made her stop.

"It's not easy, Pierce. You have to understand that it is not easy for me."She answered.

"Meryl, I understand you, I understand you completely because he is also my son but you don't understand me."He retorted.

"Why would I?Even if we both understand each other, that understanding won't bring our son back."She uttered before completely leaving him.

Hearing her say those just felt unreal to him. He froze in his place hearing those words come from his wife.

Pierce headed to their room after a few moments and it made his forehead crease when he found their room empty. It felt empty. He headed to their son's room to see if his wife is there and she is. She is on their son's bed already in her deep slumber.

"Our Sammy, mommy will borrow your room for the night, okay?I know she slept here for a couple of times now since you left us but you said that we should always ask permission if we wanna sleep here."Pierce whispered as he cover Meryl with the thick comforter.

"Well, on that note, daddy is going to borrow your room together with mommy."Pierce said before going to one of the empty rooms in their house to grab a matress for himself.

"Mommy's beautiful, isn't it?"Pierce asked even if he knows that nobody's going to answer him.

"You know, we waited for you for almost six years and having you is one of the greatest joys in mommy and I's life. If you are here, I'm sure you will help mommy and I make-up because you hate us when we're fighting."Pierce said and a tear fell from his eye.

"Baby, can you help us, please?I don't wanna lose mommy, too, baby. She is all I have now."Pierce added and he gently held Meryl's hand. He pressed his lips against her forehead before closing his eyes and he is hoping that when they both wake up, everything's fine.

He slept on the matress holding Meryl's hand and even in his sleep, he didn't wanna let go. It is impossible to hold on in your sleep but he wanna make it possible. That is also what he wanted for their relationship. He wanted to hold onto it even if it looks like it is impossible.

Meryl woke up early as usual and she is still in her son's room. She looked around to see if he is there but he isn't. She looked down to see her husband and he is there, sleeping on the floor, holding her hand.
