Bea's POV
"Julia..."
My voice was too weak, I don't know if she heard me. But I got my confirmation when she slowly looked back at me while holding the piece of paper I'm very familiar with.
She tried to hide the paper at her back but it was too late. I already saw it. I don't understand what's happening but I saw it.
"What are you doing here?" I ask still sounding so weak.
"Ha?" she laugh nervously "Taga-dito kaya ako.. Ikaw ang bakit nandito?"
I pointed the house at her back and said "That's my house." she looked back quickly before returning her gaze at me. "And that's my letter your holding. Why did you take that?"
"Bea..."
"Do you know me?" she bit her lip and let out a sigh.
"Yes"
"Do I know you?" yumuko siya at tinignan ang papel na hawak niya. "Was it you? J?"
Tumingin siya sakin at dahan-dahang tumango. I had to bit my lip and closed my eyes real tight. Is it really her?
"Are you sure?" I ask still not convince about what's happening. "Are you really her? Bakit hindi mo sinabi sakin? Bakit ngayon lang?"
"I didn't know it was you. Nalaman ko lang nang mag-iwan ka ng number mo. Hindi ko alam paano--"
"Wait.. so ikaw yung nagtext sakin? Pero... bakit? Sabi mo hindi ikaw yung hinahanap ko. Bakit.. paano?" I'm trying not to sound mad pero wala na talaga akong naiintindihan. Bakit ba nangyayari sakin to?
"Kasi natakot ako.." she looked away before explaining "Hindi ka sumasagot sakin. Natakot ako na baka hindi mo na ako hinahanap. Ayokong mapahiya kaya sinabi ko na hindi talaga ako yung hinahanap mo."
"I don't understand.. Why would you think that when you know that I've been leaving my letter here almost everyday, hoping to find you?"
"Noong una, oo. Pero nang tumagal, parang hindi mo na gustong malaman kung sino ba talaga yung hinahanap mo. Parang.. nawalan ka na ng interes sa kanya.. sa akin.."
I am trying so hard not to cry. Bakit parang parehas lang sila nang sinasabi ni Jhoana? Ganon ba talaga ako kahirap intindihin? Gusto ko lang naman mahanap yung taong nagpasaya sa akin noon sa kabila nang nangyari sa magulang ko.
"I don't know Jia.. Naguguluhan na ako."
"Saan ka naguguluhan? I will explain."
"I just... I need to think. I'm sorry.."
I slowly walk away from her kahit ang dami ko pang gustong itanong. I don't think I can process everything at the same time at ayoko na munang dagdagan.
"I thought you wanted to see me.." I stopped without looking back at her "I'm here, B."
I shook my head and closed my eyes.
"I'm sorry.." I said and started walking towards my car. I was about to get in when I remembered her. Jhoana.
I look around hoping to see her but she's not here anymore. Baka pumasok na siya. O baka bumalik sa bahay. Hindi ko na alam.
