"Where is daddy, mom?
My mom did not answer. Instead, she hugged me and kissed my head.
"We'll be okay, Bea."
Hindi ko naintindihan si mommy nung mga panahon na yun. Niyakap ko nalang din siya ng mahigpit.
Isang linggo ng hindi umuuwi si daddy, I kept on asking my mom but we always end up her, hugging me and whispering things like ' it's okay' 'we can make it' and 'we'll be okay'
I was only 9 years old and I can't understand what my mom is trying to say.
"Mommy? Uuwi po ba si daddy ngayon?"
It's been 2 months since I last saw dad, it's my 10th birthday and I was hoping na makita ko siya ngayong araw.
My mom smiled and gave me a hug.
"Happy birthday, Beatriz. Take a shower, dadating na mga bisita mo"
I waited for my dad to come and visit me for my birthday. I kept on looking at the door every time someone is coming, hoping that it was him. But I end up being disappointed, he never showed up.
"Bakit hindi pumunta si daddy? Hindi niya ba ako namimiss? Hindi niya na ba ako love?" Halos paiyak ko ng sabi ng matapos ang birthday party ko na hindi man lang nagpapakita si daddy.
"Bea, don't say that" my mom hugged me and kissed my head "I know this is hard for you, I am sorry. I'm sorry that you have to go through this, baby"
"Where is dad, mom?"
I woke up not really feeling well. My eyes are heavy and my throat is dry. I tried to stand up, pero agad din akong napakapit sa headboard ng kama ko.
"Kianna" I called out pero walang sumagot. Or napakahina lang talaga ng pagkakasabi ko?
Sinubukan ko uling tumayo, nagawa ko naman at nakalakad ako papunta sa kitchen. May nakita akong note sa lamesa kasama ng mga nakatakip na pagkain.

I have a meeting with Rex and Marck. Please take a rest. I know lalagnatin ka, you were having nightmares again. Eat up and take those meds I left on the table.
