Amelia's POVSaturday night
"Yes that's perfect Lee! See you're getting there." I said, encouraging my brother. I was helping him with some math that he was having difficulties with."Thank you Millie." He smiled.
I nodded, "Don't worry about it, are you hungry?"
He nods, "Okay I'll go make something for you just make sure to be quiet and stay here, it's really late." I kissed the side of his head before making my way downstairs.
I crept down the stairs slowly, trying not to make a single noise. Turning on the light above the oven I started making a sandwich for Levi as promised.
The sandwich didn't take long to make, maybe a few minutes. While I was packing the ingredients away the sound of glass shattering made me turn my head, Levi had came downstairs and broken the flower pot on the table.
"What did you do!" I whisper yelled at him in confusion with slight anger.
"I-I don't know? I'm so sorry Amelia." I finished packing the ingredients away and gave him his food.
"Eat quickly so you can go to bed before anyone wakes up." I grabbed a cloth and started picking up the glass. Not even five seconds later I heard the steps creaking, meaning someone was coming downstairs.
I heard Levi put his plate in the sink right before the yelling started, "Fuck you two awake for huh?" I stood up as Levi began to respond.
"Papa I-"
"I broke the flower pot." I said, cutting him off, "I came down here to make a sandwich but Levi heard me wake up so he followed me and told me to stop but I didn't listen." I paused for a moment.
"I got mad at him for telling me what to do so I broke it."
My father took a few steps forward until his face was inches from mine, without warning he gripped my arm harshly and dragged me out of the kitchen.
He gripped my hair and pulled me up the stairs back to my room, he threw me on the ground and started kicking my back. He always tries to make everything quick and painful when he's tired.
"Your gonna fucking learn one day."
After a few more kicks and punches to my stomach he left, shutting my door loudly on the way out. I stood up slowly and got back in bed. I stared at the ceiling, preparing myself for the first day at my new school on Monday.
