Amelia's POVFour months later...
Saturday afternoon
Not much has happened, well other than a few amazing moments of becoming a mother. A favourite example of mine would be when I started showing.*Flashback*
I stood in front of the bathroom mirror, getting ready to shower I toss my hair behind my shoulders. I slid my shirt over my head and fixed my bra straps.
Sliding down my shorts I got a sudden urge to turn sideways and observe my body, specifically my stomach. The smallest bump began to grow and I couldn't help but get excited.
I'm gonna be a mom.
*Present*
Another would be when I finally picked and settled on a name. I knew I still had another four months to decide but I just wanted my baby to have a name once he or she was born.
*Flashback*
"We should go with Teresa, don't you agree? Your auntie would be so happy if you were named after her."
I smiled, "And if your a boy mommy will choose something else."
"Isn't that a good idea?" I asked my unborn child, obviously not expecting an answer.
A sudden painless zap happened in my stomach, a light tickle if you will.
"What the fuck was that? Oh shit- god uh sorry for cursing." I rubbed my stomach and sat in thought.
It felt like a small object was hitting me from the inside of my belly. Holy crap I'm stupid, that was the baby!
"Oh my god that means your healthy right? That's a good thing!"
*Present*
I've spent a good bit of my time at the park singing to my belly. Others may find it odd but I enjoy it, it's quite comforting.
*Flashback*
"Hush little baby, don't say a word.
Mama's going to buy you a mockingbird. If that mockingbird won't sing, Mama's going to buy you a diamond ring. And if that diamond ring turns brass, Mama's going to buy you a looking glass. If that looking glass gets broke, Mama's going to buy you a billy goat."I clear my throat before continuing, "And if that billy goat won't pull, Mama's going to buy you a cart and bull. If that cart and bull turn over, Mama's going to buy you a dog named Rover. And if that dog named Rover won't bark, Mama's going to buy you a horse and cart. And if that horse and cart fall down, you'll still be the sweetest little baby in town."
*Present*
Although the baby doesn't understand what I talk about I constantly remind her or him about how much I love them. How I promise to be the best mother I can and how I'm going to protect them from all the bad things in this world.
Levi told me that when I left lunch that day for my ultrasound Wyatt pulled him aside and asked what was wrong. He was in a vulnerable state just like I was and figured we could find comfort in each other.
None of us knew till later but his girlfriend Arianna broke up with him that morning and he just wanted to distract himself. So the next day at school Wyatt and Paris stayed with me almost the entire day since Levi had his own classes to attend.
I switched out of any classes I had with him and I never looked his way. He tried to reach out once or twice but that was it.
Wyatt has been taking care of me the way he should've. Taking me to doctor's appointments, making sure I've eaten, helping me carry things. Things a father should be doing for the mother of his child.
