Amelia's POV

Sunday morning
The sunlight beamed through my window letting me know it was already morning. However I ignored it and decided to keep my eyes closed until my alarm went off.

I rubbed my eyes and turned onto my other side, reaching down on the floor I picked up my phone.

(Amelia's room)

The time showed 8:45. I sat up and stretched my arms, wincing from the pain in my back I quickly put my arms down. I got up and walked to the small cupboard next to my door.

I grabbed a pair of plain black biker shorts with a black hoodie, I also grabbed my towel from behind the door.

I put all my items in one hand and grabbed my shower basket in the other. It contained my washcloth, shaver, shampoo, conditioner, etc.

I opened my door quietly and made my way down the hall to the bathroom. I took a quick shower, drying my hair before brushing it into a high ponytail.

I changed, put my clothes in my laundry basket, then made my way downstairs. My mother was in the kitchen making breakfast, my father was on the front porch smoking and Levi was setting the table.

"Sorry I came down late, I was showering." Levi looked up at me when he heard my voice.

"Good morning Millie."

"Morning Lee." I gave him a small smile and walked next to my mother, "Mum what time did you fall asleep last night?"

"Not late at all Amelia why are you asking?"

"No reason." It was silent for a moment before I asked, "Do you need any help?"

"Just go tell your dad that breakfast is ready." I nod in understanding as I walked out of the kitchen and out to the front porch. I opened the door and walked up next to him.

"Mum said breakfast is ready." I told him quickly. I turned around to walk back inside but was stopped once my father gripped my arm tightly and pulled me back to face him.

"Your mother won't help you so stop asking her silly questions."

His grip got tighter, "I have to go help mom." I yanked my arm out of his grasp and walked back inside.

"Is he coming?" My mother asked from the head of the table. I nodded silently in response and sat across from Levi.

We waited a few more minutes before my dad finally decided to come inside, we aren't allowed to eat until he began eating first. Once he sat down and started devouring his plate, like an animal if I may add. We all ate in silence.

After I finished I got up and put my dishes in the dishwasher, Levi finished right around the same time as I did and brought his dishes over as well.

"Millie?" He whispered.

"Yea?" I responded quietly while grabbing his dishes and placing them in the wash.

"Can we go for a walk?"

I closed the dishwasher and faced my mother, "Thank you for breakfast mum uh do you think Levi and I could go for a walk around the neighbourhood?" She looked hesitant to answer.

"Of course just be back soon and don't go too far." I nod and take Levi's hand in mine.

I dragged us to the front door, picked up our shoes and walked out. I had the shoes in one hand while the other held onto Levi.

Once we were far enough down the sidewalk, out of earshot from the house Levi started complaining.

"Amelia I'm still in my pyjamas!"

I rolled my eyes, "Who cares? Here." I handed him his shoes. He huffed putting them on. I put my shoes on as well and we continued walking in silence. After a few minutes Levi decided to speak up.

"D-Did he hurt you badly?"

I shook my head slowly, "Not really, it stung a little when I stretched but it's fine."

He looked down at the concrete ashamed, "I'm sorry Millie, I wish I would've stood up for you but I'm scared of him."

I wrapped my arm around his shoulders, pulling his body into my side.

"Don't apologize. You're my baby brother Lee, I would die for you." We walked in silence once again. Soon enough we had done an entire loop around the neighbourhood and were now back at home.

My mother made some homemade pizza which my father didn't like that much. He says Levi and I shouldn't be allowed pizza because I just get fatter and Levi doesn't gain weight.

He has a fast metabolism and he runs a lot so he's active, he's perfectly fine the way he is but our dad doesn't see it that way.

Me on the other hand I understand, I've always been at least fifteen to twenty pounds overweight. I have big thighs and a slightly noticeable stomach. I didn't think anything was wrong with my legs but my stomach was a different story.

I stopped caring about other people's opinions for the most part but my father's words were always fresh in my mind.

So I didn't have any pizza and just went up to my room. I picked up my phone, it showed 12:19. Woah how long were we walking for?

I put my phone back down and took out some cards to play solitaire.
