Sarah's POV
I know I said no touching, but tonight? I broke my own rule. Rules are just meant to be broken, right?
We're acting as if we're dating, but we're not. I'm confused on our relationship here. I bet Hayes is too. At least I know, for a fact, that the trust did come automatically."I can't. I said I should and I'm not going to. I enjoy every moment with you. I have no reason to complain." Hayes smiled.
Instantly, I got massive amounts of butterflies. I was then silent."Here. Come on, follow me." Hayes said, grabbing my hands and pulling me up.
"Where are we going?" I asked, confused. He didn't say anything. He just guided me to his window. He slid it open and we both crawled out.
"Remember this?" Hayes smiled, sitting cross legged on the roof. I smiled and sat across from him, nodding.
"Yeah. I remember this place very well." I smiled as I was looking around. Nothing has changed.Outside Hayes's window is his roof. When we were younger, we would spend all of our time we had, out here telling ridiculous stories and talk about the weirdest things possible.
A long time ago, Hayes was a very close friend of mine. (He was my only friend I had at one point.) Then, one day, Hayes got more guy friends and I met Brooke. We then drifted apart. Now, we're back together.
Just like old times."Got any ridiculous stories to tell?" I laughed, as my eyes adjusted to the slight darkness. It wasn't completely dark because of the street lights. Hayes shook his head, chuckling.
"No. All the ridiculous stories and memories I have, you're there." Hayes laughed. It was silent again.
"Wait! I want to see if it's still here!" I said, crawling more down the roof.
"If what's here?" Hayes asked, following me. When I was halfway there, it clued into him. He knew where I was going.
I crawled down to the end of the roof and sat down and threw my legs over the edge. What do you know? It's still there. Hayes came and sat beside me, but not right beside me. We were each on one side of the writing.
Our name, written in permanent white house paint.
A long time ago, Hayes's parents were re-painting the house and Hayes and I hung out that day. If your wondering. We did help. For the first five minutes.
Then we gave up, got the paint and brushes we had and left, going to this spot. We sat and talked in this exact spot. Hayes was telling me this really long, yet interesting story, so I decided to write my name with the paint brush and paint. After Hayes said his story, he wrote his name right underneath mine."It's here." I said softly. Hayes smiled, looked at me then at the writing.
"Yeah." He grinned as I looked up at him as he then looked at me.It felt as if time has froze and we're the only people in the world. Just the two of us. A massive amount of butterflies decided to gather in my stomach. I then looked down, breaking the eye contact. Even though I wasn't looking at Hayes, I could tell he was smiling and continuing to look at me.
I think I'm starting to all back in love with Hayes.
