The weekend has come to an end and Izuku is making his way to his Monday morning class, stifling a yawn. He's been staying up later than usual recently to spend more time with Todoroki. Why did I choose an 8am class anyway?

As far as Izuku knows, he is now dating Todoroki. They never officially said they were but from the way they ended things at the lake yesterday, with the kiss, and then holding hands on their way back to the dorms, Izuku could only assume that's what was happening. And he knows Todoroki wouldn't lead him on about something like this, unlike someone.

He smiles thinking back on the time they've been spending together. He likes Todoroki a lot, the way he's very serious but can also be clueless and awkward at times, and he's always thoughtful and communicates with Deku with mature conversations. His heart flutters just thinking about him.

That being said, he still hasn't been able to forget about Kacchan either. He knows that's selfish and probably wrong of him to even have the other boy on his mind when he's got Todoroki but he can't seem to help himself. He worries about Katsuki, ever since they found out about the mate bond he's been getting visibly weaker and Izuku feels partially responsible.

"Oi Deku!"

Surprised, Izuku turns around to see Katsuki himself coming towards him. He looks even worse than the last time he saw him, with bags under his eyes reminding him of Aizawa's.

"What is it?" Izuku questions, narrowing his eyes. He was expecting Katsuki to ignore him indefinitely, or has he decided to pick up his old habits and bully him again?

Katsuki scratches his neck, looking unsure of himself. That's new, Izuku thinks to himself. "I need to talk to you about something, come with me."

Izuku is about to agree and stops himself. He can't keep doing whatever Katsuki wants and letting himself be used, like Todoroki had said. He is upset with Katsuki after all and it would be easier for him to move on if he just avoids him.

"Um no thanks Kacchan, sorry," Izuku shrugs and continues walking. Katsuki wasn't expecting that.

"What?! Why not, class doesn't start for another 15 minutes?"

"Why are you even talking to me? You said the next time you'd speak to me would be on Friday while working on our project." Izuku asks wearily.

"I didn't mean that. Damn it, why won't you just hear me out? I've said worse things to you in the past and you've kept coming back, why is this any different?"

Izuku takes a breath. "Because. You gave me hope that maybe things could change between us, and then crushed it. I'm not going to give you another chance to do that all over again. Have a good day Kacchan!" With that Izuku walks off, and Katsuki doesn't follow him.

Katsuki punches the door open and stomps outside.

"FUCK."

That didn't go as planned. Deku was supposed to go with him to a private place, Katsuki would apologize to him, say he accepted him as his mate, then Deku would give him one of his brightest smiles and a warm hug, and his mate would be his.

Apologizing isn't something that comes easy to Katsuki and he'd been rehearsing exactly what he was going to say all day yesterday. Stupid nerd.

He can't blame Deku for standing up for himself though and it was selfish of him to think the green haired boy would just forget all the past trauma Katsuki had put him through and forgive him just like that. If anything he admires him even more for actually having a backbone for once and not letting himself get walked all over.

But now what?? Just because he decided he wants to be Deku's mate doesn't mean Deku feels the same way. So should he give up? Just go back to how things were before? Deku deserves to be happy after all, and especially with everything Katsuki put him through he owes him that.

It's probably best for both of them if he just leaves Deku alone, for real this time.
