Shoto plays with Katsuki's hair anxiously as they sit in the waiting room. It's been six days since the villain incident. Five days since Shoto and Katsuki woke up in their hospital beds and ran to check on Izuku. Five days they haven't been able to see him. Each day they resist the urge to sit in the hospital waiting room, because as much as they want to be there they know they aren't allowed inside Izuku's room, so there's no point anyway. This would be their first week back in classes since the break, but neither have been able to go to class. How could they? They wouldn't be able to focus even if they did go. They haven't separated once, just alternating between Shoto's dorm room and Katsuki's.

Their friends all tried to comfort them but Katsuki pushed them away most of the time with some colourful insults. Shoto could still tell he was grateful to them, especially Kirishima Kaminari, Mina, and Sero who all came to their aid when storming the villain's base. They wouldn't have been able to get to Dabi's room so fast if it weren't for them, and the pros didn't arrive until a bit later.

Iida offered to take notes for Shoto, and Kirishima taking notes for Katsuki, so neither of them would fall behind. Uraraka told them that she would collect the notes for Izuku, which Shoto was thankful for.

The doctor is doing some tests and if everything goes according to plan they will be able to go inside his room and see him. It's felt like forever, even though it was really less than a week.

"Katsuki wake up I think she's about to come out," Shoto whispers, pushing him off his shoulder.

"Huhh I wasn't asleep dumbass!" Katsuki shoots up, rubbing the sleep out of his eyes proving otherwise. They woke up at 5am eager to go inside only to be told not yet, even though they said 5 days and they did wait 5 days, they still had to wait til the doctor came in.

They walk over to Izuku's door just as the doctor steps out. "You can go-" She is interrupted by Katsuki pushing past her straight into the room.

"Thank you," Shoto nods before following Katsuki inside. He's hit with Izuku's scent immediately, but it is off a bit. Probably from the new blood put into his system, and the drugs being put into him to help him get better.

"He isn't awake and please be careful as he is still very weak," she warns.

Shoto's eyes widen when they land on him. She didn't need to say anything, one look at him and you could tell he wasn't in good shape at all. Honestly Shoto was surprised they were allowed in here at all after taking a look at his soulmate. The sound of his faded heartbeat the only thing convincing Shoto he wasn't dead. He stopped beside Katsuki, who was a few feet away from the bed looking just as disturbed. Not wanting to go any closer and risk hurting him at all. His skin was almost as white as Shoto's, lips purple, bruises all over his body and bandages wrapped all around him. No muscle left, just skin and bones. He looked peaceful though. He wasn't in pain, his face relaxed and resting.

"We're having a healer come in later today, it was too risky to do anything when he was at such a vulnerable state to have any quirk be used on him, but that should help him gain some more life to himself. Humans are very fragile, as I'm sure you can tell." The doctor explains from behind them. "Well I'll leave you two, the nurse will be checking up on him for the rest of the day."

Shoto and Katsuki wait inside his hospital room the whole day. Izuku's mother came in for a while, a nurse with a healing quirk helped heal his wounds a bit, and now it's almost night and he still isn't awake.

Shoto can't help but play the fight with Dabi over in his mind, the last few moments before it ended playing on loop. He's snapped out of his thoughts when Katsuki speaks out.
