Izuku's head feels heavy when he wakes up, blinking his eyes open to the sunlight filtering inside.

Wait... Sunlight? There's no sunlight in Dabi's room. The texture of the bed sheets are different too, more smooth and thin. Izuku's eyebrows furrow and he takes in his surroundings. He's in a white room, an IV hooked into his arm, heart monitor on his left, and on his right he sees his two mates sound asleep.

My... Mates...? Is this real are they really here?!

Confused as to how he got here but filled with joy at the sight of his boyfriends, he tries to sit up hissing in pain during the process.

The sound must have alerted Katsuki and Shoto because they're awake instantly, peering over at him.

"Shoto... Kacchan...." Is it really them? He missed his mates so much. How did they get here? Where is Dabi?

"Morning Deku," Katsuki says cautiously. They aren't rushing over to see me... Why? Am I too broken?

"...Where's Dabi? What happened?" His eyes search for answers, wracking his brain to figure out the last thing he remembers. They appear to be in a hospital room... Does that mean he was saved? Is this a dream?? Izuku looks down at himself, bandages wrapped around thin wrists. Bruises on his arm. He feels too much pain for it to be a dream. 

But Dabi.... He was so angry.... He's going to be after him again. He isn't safe. 

"Dabi is dead," Shoto says bluntly. "He'll never hurt you ever again."

"Dead..." Izuku repeats in disbelief. Is that really it? It's really over? It can't be, that's too easy. 

"We saw with our own eyes, trust me he's gone," Katsuki adds.

"How?" If both of them saw it... They wouldn't lie to me... But it's so hard to believe, I still feel his presence.

"He just didn't make it, injured too bad from me and icyhot being badass and help didn't come in time. Nothing else we could do, right?" Katsuki looks to Shoto for confirmation, who nods looking distracted.

"Yeah..."

"Oh... Wait- how's Toga doing is she okay?" Izuku asks with concern, thinking about his new hybrid friend.

"She... escaped the hospital as soon as she woke up, no one knows where she is," Katsuki explains hesitantly.

"Okay," to both of their surprise, Izuku nods unbothered. As much as he wished she would have stayed, there was a good chance she would have to serve time in prison and have to answer tons of questions on the villains that she might not be ready for.

"That... doesn't worry you?" Shoto questions.

"Idiot are you trying to make him worry?!" Katsuki smacks the back of the other's head, but Izuku can tell he was wondering the same thing. It makes him realize they don't know her like he does, they just see her as another villain working with Dabi.

"Toga won't hurt me. It's a shame, I wish she had stayed I know she's gonna miss talking to Uraraka. She actually kept me safe... Before you guys arrived," Izuku's memory of that night is foggy and he only remembers fragments, Toga putting everything she had into fighting Dabi being one of them, and then her unconscious body. He hopes she's okay, wherever she is, and she isn't hurting innocent people anymore. 

"Tch, still don't trust her. She's the one who kidnapped you to begin with, they're working on locating her now."

"Well I'm safe, don't worry," Izuku smiles lightly, and both his mates look to him in shock, which confuses him. He studies both of them, the bags under thier eyes, as well as the small distance they have created between themselves and Izuku. Something isn't right and he can't tell why, why are they so far away? Did something happen he doesn't remember?
