"Get a pet..." Izuku recalled the therapist's suggestion as him and Katsuki walked back to his dorm room. 

"What pet would you wanna get?" Katsuki questions.

"See that's the thing I love animals they're so cute and precious but... I don't think I'd be allowed to keep one in the dorm plus I wouldn't have the time to properly care for it, with school and training and everything, that's a long term commitment I just don't think I'm ready for. I have no research or experience... I'd much rather hang out with a friend who has pets... Hmm who do I know who has one...." he mutters to himself trying to think. "There also might be a cat cafe somewhere... Or adoption centres might let me hang out with them... But being in an unfamiliar place with strangers is a bit counteractive, if you guys were there maybe..."

Katsuki is lost in thought while Izuku continues to rant about the options he has up until they reach the entrance of the dorm building. "Wait!" he starts, Izuku pausing as his hand was about to reach the door. 

"What?" he looks over at him curiously.

Katsuki scratches the back of his neck, looking unsure. "I... um.. think I have an idea," 

Surprised to see the rare hesitant Katsuki, Izuku's interest is peaked. "What is it Kacchan?"

"Less talking more walking!" he turns and starts to head towards the nearby forest he would go occasionally with Kirishima or his other werewolf friends to train and exercise. 

Once they reach it they walk through a bit and Katsuki stops. "Okay you stay here I'll be back-"

However when he starts to step out of view Izuku runs after him, not wanting to be out of his sight. "Stop- where are you going? I don't... I'm not ready for any surprises right now I don't want to be left alone if I don't know what's happening. Communicate, remember?" 

Katsuki lets out a sigh at the reminder. "Right. Well... You like my wolf ears, right?"

"Yes they're my favourite thing ever, why you gonna let me touch em?" 

"No! It's just, would you be interested in um.. seeing my...wolf..?" he mumbles

Izuku lets out a loud gasp and puts a hand over his mouth. "REALLY?!"

"SHUT UP ITS NOT A BIG DEAL!" his outburst is paired with reddened cheeks that adds to Izuku's shock.

"It is! I've never seen it before I had almost forgot you had one! Kacchan please show me now I need to see it," 

Despite the embarrassment, seeing Izuku's face lit up made it all worth it to Katsuki. He'd do anything for him and deep down he couldn't deny he enjoyed the fuss Izuku made over him.

"Fine well I need to strip first, so if you really don't want to be alone I'll do it here, otherwise I was going to go behind those bushes over there. Your choice."

"I'll just turn around, let me know when I can look," Izuku spins around, feeling anxious in a good way for once.

He admires the vibrant greenery around them, listening to the leaves rustling in the light wind. He missed being able to go outside and enjoy nature, you don't truly appreciate something until it't taken away from you. 

He hears a woof and quickly spins around. Sitting in front of him is a beautiful cream coloured large wolf, the same colour as Katsuki's hair. 

The familiar fiery crimson eyes watching him tell Izuku that this is no doubt Katsuki in front of him. 

"Hi there," he says in a soft voice. The wolf dips his head down, as if inviting Izuku to pet him. He reaches out and runs his hand through the soft fur. Katsuki leans into his touch. "You're so soft and cute," 

The wolf lets out a growl at those words but his tail is wagging, revealing what he's really feeling. "You can't trick me now Kacchan. You like being called cute!" 

He shakes his head furiously and Izuku grins. "Aw who's my good boy? is it you?"

Frustrated that he is unable to yell at Izuku for having the audacity to treat him like some dog, and needing to hide the mortification of low key enjoying it, Katsuki resorts to pouncing on him throwing him to the ground in playful anger. Realizing what he did and how vulnerable Izuku is right now he starts to panic and is going to get away from him when he feels vibration coming from Izuku's chest under his paws. He's laughing. 

Letting out a huff Katsuki gives up on trying to make him apologize for the dehumanizing remark and instead lies down on him so his head is nuzzled into Izuku's neck and body is on the ground next to him, not wanting to have his whole weight pushing him down. 

Izuku doesn't care that he is probably getting dirt all over his clothes, he wraps his arms around Katsuki's cozy wolf body. He doesn't get that distressed feeling he did with human contact. This didn't feel like any sort of attack and instead felt almost like a big stuffed animal, it made him feel safe and comforted. He wasn't magically healed, his anxiety still there and Dabi's voice lingering in his conscious, but it was something. A step. "Thank you, Kacchan."

He lets out a content woof, giving Izuku a lick on the cheek. The smaller male may not be ready to have Katsuki hold him in his human form, but that was okay. There was no where else in the world Katsuki would rather in that moment than in Izuku's arms.
