We Belong

Yuánfèn Part One

And now we come at last to the final installment to this story of mine. It's been quite the journey and I'm glad to have you all along for the ride. This will be divided into two parts as it's taking me longer then I'd like to finish. If you're curious about the chapter title, the answer will be found at the end.

Last time, Finn and Millie finished their reading of the story about Beren and Luthien and the parallel's to the their own lives was realized by Millie who also realizes that her father is nothing at all like Thingol which leads to her pulling away from Finn in fear as a knock sounds on the door.

The pair are called to film their last scene for the season and Finn struggles to contain his own emotions in regards to Millie's reaction and her the growing sense of anxiety blooming within the girl's heart.

Upon finishing the scene, Ross makes a joke about Finn not dying as they wouldn't be able to replace them and Millie takes off in disgust and fear. Finn follows at the two return to the trailer and Millie unloads on Finn about his reckless stubborn nature and her lack of faith in him stopping her father from doing something to him.

Finn leaves, hurt by her words and lack of confidence in him, and takes off to Panola Mountain State Park to cool off and think.

Millie breaks down and Paige comforts her while Finn tries to look at things more objectively, understanding why Millie is so afraid but realizing that her terror over being found out is only getting worse and he doesn't know if he'll ever be able to convince her that things will be different this time.

He receives a call and answers, finding that it's Millie and the two reconcile and make plans for their usual meeting in the Astral Realm.

Finn returns to his car and heads back to the rental in Atlanta,unaware that he's being followed by someone hired to spy on him. This man accepts the mission from the mysterious caller on the other end of his phone that he'll go over to the gated rental property and see if he can catch the two in a tryst or other damning evidence, then takes off on the same highway Finn is traveling on.

Warning: Sexual situations are present in this chapter, not as explicit as I tend to do, but some of it will be naughty, so this is your heads up.

Millie lay down upon her bed and closed her eyes, willing herself to find the red spiritual thread that would lead her to Finn.

It had been his turn to create the world they would spend their time in for the evening and Millie was eager to see what he'd chosen for them.

Her breathing slowed, body going slack as her spirit left her body and Millie grabbed the red thread, letting it pull her forward,zooming through the star laden dark. She'd traveled countless times through the cosmos, letting go of the thread as a blinding light enveloped her and she found herself standing upon a paved road.

A slight breeze swirled around her, the scent of pine wafting in the air and she tilted her head back to study the massive conifer trees swaying in the wind. Sensing Finn's energy up ahead, Millie strolled forward, following the path as it curved around then opened up and she slowed to a stop, studying the sprawling building before her with widened and curious eyes.
