Another update to this story of mine. Some kissing and mild sexual themes but nothing naughty really happens. Onto the chapter!
Take all your favorite thoughts of me
Keep them close inside so you will always see
One time I was there for you not so long ago
In you I'll always find what I can call my homeWill you wait for me? I'm so afraid to leave
So will you wait for me? I'm so afraidI can't be strong enough alone
And I can't feel you close enough over this phone
You always said I choose the life of a lonely one
I don't know where I'm going, but I'll see you when I'm done_____________
Finn nearly sprinted through the trailer lot, his brother Nick close behind.
"Finn! Slow down will you! What's the big rush?!"
The teen didn't answer, his eyes focused ahead, drawn forward by the pain and sadness hammering in his heart. He reached the trailer he shared with Millie, leaping up the steps before yanking open the door. Finn didn't even bother to shut it behind him as he stalked over to Millie's bedroom, finding the girl sitting on the edge of her bed, staring at the floor.
Millie sensed him and lifted her gaze, tears pooling at the corners of her eyes. "Finnie..." She rose, going to him when he opened his arms to her.
He hugged her tight to him, voice soft and concerned, "What's wrong, Mills?"
The girl knew he had sensed her distress and come running, the rapid pulse of his heart audible to her ear and she clung to him, burying her face into his shoulder. "Father wants me to come home today. I didn't want to... but..."
The muscles in his jaw clenched at the mention of her father but he bit down at the bitterness building in his heart and mind. She was more important right now. And he wanted to comfort her in any way he could.
"It's alright..." he whispered, stroking her back."There's no need to say anything more. I understand."
"Gee, Finn... what the hell was so..." Nick panted out as he stuck his head through the open doorway to Millie's room, voice going quiet at the sight of the girl in his brother's arms. Understanding what was going on he cleared his throat.
"Oh... uh... I'll just...I'll be outside..." The older male pivoted around and exited, the faint sound of the trailer door closing, indicating they were alone again.
"I'm sorry," she murmured. "I know today was movie day for us and I tried to convince him to let me stay but he wouldn't budge."
"It's fine," Finn replied. No, it's not! his mind shouted. He's trying to keep us apart! The boy ignored the anger, forcing it down and away. Millie didn't need to deal with his own troubled emotions right now.
"I know you don't want to upset your father and I don't want you to get in trouble over me or anyone else." He turned his head to nuzzle her hair. "I will miss you, though..."
Millie closed her eyes, clutching at the fabric on the back of his black t shirt. "I'll miss you, too. I don't want to go. It's... It could a long time before we see each other again. I had hoped we could... talk about a few things before then..."
His brow furrowed at the last statement. "Talk about what, Mills?"
The girl drew in her breath before letting it out slowly. "About our next steps... Our plans... the future... hopes... dreams...things like that."
He tilted his head to rest it against hers. "We'll have time for that, later, I promise. We can still call and text each other... we just... won't be physically close to each other."
