Here we are with another update. I am not intending for these chapters to be as long as this one but I kind of went off my original idea a bit.
Again, there are sexual themes present but nothing too naughty (well maybe a little... or what could be a little... you'll have to read to find out.)
Tilt my hat at the sun
And the shadows they burn dark
Light me and I'll burn for you
And the love song never stops_____________________________
Millie sat on the edge of the king sized bed in her hotel room, eyes locked on her phone screen. The text she'd sent Finn three hours ago remained unread and her anxiety grew.
They'd had several late night conversations, face time chats, birthday wishes, returning likes on posts, congratulating each other on modeling contracts, and so on in the eight months they'd been apart. And in that time she'd never had to wait so long for a response from him.
Yes, he was prone to reading and not replying right away on occasion and she wasn't salty about that... not at all... (okay, yes she was) but those instances were few and far between. Besides, the message wasn't even read... which meant he either didn't have access to his phone or he hadn't seen the text from her.
She looked at the time, noting it was after 4:30 pm. His flight should have landed over an hour ago, so why hadn't he replied?
"You know, staring at the phone won't make Finn text you any faster."
Millie looked up at the sound of Paige's voice, frowning. "How did you know I was even waiting for him to text me?"
"Because you've been sitting there for the past hour doing nothing but looking at the phone with a sad face. Honestly, Mills, he's probably tied up and can't answer you yet."
The younger girl sighed, laying the phone beside her. "You're probably right. It's just... I haven't seen him in close to a year and I want to make sure he's okay." And to know if he misses me as much as I miss him.
"I'm sure he is," Paige said in a softer tone. "Besides, aren't your other friends coming here to visit you, too?"
"Yes, they are. And I'll be happy to see them, too." Millie answered. Truth be told she was pissed at her father for once again pushing her management into booking a luxury suite ( this time at the Four Seasons) to keep her isolated from the rest of the group who were staying at a more modest Marriot hotel a few blocks away.
She just wanted to be near her friends and spend time with them, especially Finn. But with them going on GMA tomorrow morning, Millie only had a few hours she could visit before she had to call it a night. Management rules and all, she grumbled.
Her phone suddenly vibrated and the girl snapped her gaze downward, reaching out to snatch the phone. Millie lifted it, swiping it open, relief filling her at the message on her screen and she read it with eager eyes.
Hey Mills, sorry for
the delay in answering.
Nick wouldn't let me
have my phone until
we landed. Is it safe
to call or do you want
to just text?
Millie sent back, smiling as she did so,
It's safe to call. I'd love
to hear your voice, actually
Finn replied,
Sweet! And I miss your
