Here we are with another installment to this story of mine.
This chapter is all ST related. We'll get some Fillie in the next chapter.
No warnings this time, unless you're triggered by hooded figures doing nefarious things.
That's it for notes. Onto the chapter!
Listen to the wind on the water
Listen to the waves upon the shore
Try to sleep, sleep won't come
Just as I begin to fadeThen I remember
When the moon was full and bright
I would take you in the darkness
And do the tango in the night

"So," Steve began as he sat in the waiting room with Robin. "You going to just sit there and not talk about what you saw in the woods?"
Robin kept her gaze down on the open magazine in her hand as she answered, "I already told you what I saw."
The young man pursed his lips.
He knew Robin was brave and fearless and he also knew she felt embarrassed at letting McKenzie and the unknown suspects get away.
But I need to know what happened, before we talk to the chief.
"The robed figures, though... that's some creepy shit... What were they doing there? How did they know the exact place McKenzie would be? Who are they?" Steve sighed as he leaned back in his chair. "I mean, we need to put out an APB..."
"Already done," Robin replied, turning the magazine page. "I gave the basic info to dispatch while you were talking to Wheeler's mom, minus a few... details.... of course. The chief himself was on the way to the McKenzie's to deal with the situation."
"But you still haven't told him about what happened?"
Robin's hand stilled, voice a bit distant. "Only that two other people took McKenzie away. Once Mike's mom or dad show up, we have to go meet up with our boss and discuss it from there."
As if on cue, the entrance doors opened and a weary looking Ted Wheeler walked inside. His head swiveled side to side, his gaze falling upon Steve and Robin and he turned and approached them.
Steve stood up first, nodding at his ex's father. "Mr. Wheeler."
"Steve," Ted replied then corrected himself. "I mean, Officer Harrington," he paused, gaze shifting over to Robin as he greeted calmly enough. "Officer Buckley."
"Mr. Wheeler," Robin returned.
Ted looked back and forth between the pair as he asked, "What happened to my son?"
Steve filled the details, drawing the older man's attention.
Mr. Wheeler listened, waiting until the younger man had finished before asking, "And Michael said he didn't want to press charges? Even after being assaulted?"
"That's what he said," Steve affirmed. "I think he should but it's not my decision to make."
"Hmm..." Ted sounded, turning to Robin who added,
"Chief Grant is working on finding McKenzie right now and we promise to bring him in and charge him if Mike changes his mind."
Ted gave a silent nod, shifting his to the left when a new voice intruded,
"You must be Mr. Wheeler, Michael's father?"
"I am," Ted said, his eyes level with a younger male in a doctor's coat and scrubs, looking down at the doctor's outstretched hand which he shook.
