Another update and much longer than any chapter before. Heavy behind the scenes stuff in this chapter. Some fluff (or mush if you prefer) along with a bit of comedy tossed into the mix.

"Holy shit!"
Mike snapped his head at Max's outburst, wild eyes staring as a tentacle of the flesh monster shot through the gaping hole on the side of the cabin. It headed straight for El and he gasped when another appendage broke through the glass above the sink. His heart raced, watching in numbed horror as El shook then snapped her hands down, her power ripping off the gory mouth-like tentacle ends and they slithered away.
She stood there panting and Mike felt fear start to crawl up his spine. The girl he loved had already taxed her powers. Just how much power could she exert before she collapsed?
Wood suddenly exploded from the roof of the cabin, the flesh monster's head visible and it roared, spitting out another appendage that snaked around Eleven's left leg before yanking her up into the air.
"No!" Mike cried, his fear of losing her overcoming his terror of the monster and he leapt forward, hands reaching out to grab El's.
Her frightened screams fed into the adrenaline pumping through his veins, giving him the strength to keep her from being taken long enough for the rest of the group to rush in and assist him.
Humans and monster fought. A deadly tug of war ensuing as the gang strained to keep the telekinetic girl from being snatched away, until Lucas ended it after several swings of the ax Jonathan had used earlier.
El fell into Mike's arms and the pair collapsed onto the ground. "El?! El are you okay?!" he cried out, his hand slowly brushing aside her hair...
"Cut!"
Finn looked up at the sound of Matt Duffer's voice, his hand still on Millie's cheek as the older male strolled forward and spoke,
"Good panicked voice inflection there Finn, but the sweeping of Millie's hair, while rather romantic, is a bit too slow for the scene. You need to be more aggressive, almost terrified for her. There's not time for tenderness now. You need to get her up so everyone can escape."
Finn took the direction in stride, giving a nod. "Got it."
"I rather liked it," Millie whispered, staring up at her co star with twinkling eyes.
Finn couldn't help but smile. "Did you?" he whispered back, so low that only Millie could hear.
"Um hmm..." she sounded, eyes still on him. She lived for moments like these. For his touch and for his attention, even if it was only as El and Mike. The revelation months ago of Finn sensing her pain had shocked her. Millie wasn't certain how such a thing was possible. It sounded... far fetched and otherworldly.
Yet her spirit resonated with and was drawn to his own. She couldn't deny the connection of the pull that they shared nor did she want to. She loved his soul as much as she loved him. And the longer she was around Finn, the deeper the feelings grew. Millie knew it was the same for him. But we can never act on how we feel.
And this was the frustrating part of their...friendship/relationship. To love each other... but never be together... not now... not for some time. Not until they were ready... So Millie was going to take whatever she could get... even if it was as her character. "El loves when Mikey is gentle and caring."
