Y/N POV
Clay and Lizzie are exploring the neighborhood having some quality bestie time while I am relaxing at home. I finished up the roof so it's ready for decorations and made sure all the plants were doing well before I took a shower and slumped onto the couch. I decided to watch some of Lizzie's older stuff because I think she's absolutely adorable and she isn't here to turn it off. I'm currently watching Peace, Love and Misunderstanding and melting at my cutie pie fiancée.
I don't even flinch, too focused on the movie and smiling my face off, when the door opens and the two besties are laughing about something. "Hey baby!" Lizzie greets.
"Hi Y/N!" Clay greets as well and I look over at the two, shopping bags filling their hands.
"You two had fun then?" I ask and they both nod as they set their bags on the dining room table. I point at the screen. "Look how cute you are!" I squeal and Lizzie moves to see what I'm watching.
"Are you watching Peace, Love and Misunderstanding?" She asks and I nod excitedly. "Uh why?" She asks and grabs the remote. I jump up and place my hands on the screen marveling at her cute face.
"Because look how cuuuuuuuute!" I coo and the TV turns off. I turn and pout at her. "Hey! I was watching that!" I complain. Clay laughs at our antics and Lizzie throws the remote onto the couch as she comes up to me. I cross my arms and continue to pout at her.
"I love the support baby but you can finish it later." She says quietly and rises to peck my lips. I deepen my pout and she rolls her eyes playfully and gives me a longer kiss. I smile cheekily at her before she turns and joins Clay at the table to showcase all their purchases. I watch with a smile on my face at how excited they get over the stuff they found. I sit and offer comments here and there but mostly admire their relationship. It's clear that they have known each other forever and love each other a lot.
"Have you shown Clay your garden yet, my love?" I ask and she clasps her hands together in excitement.
"No! Come on!" She squeals and pulls him up. I follow behind and laugh at the amused and scared look on Clays face that he shoots my way. Once we get onto the roof, she pulls him along the edges of the roof to each box to show him all the plants we have. I grabbed a basket on the way up knowing she always forgets one and always ends up carrying down fresh fruits and veggies in whatever shirt shes wearing. She picks a tomato as she talks about how big they've gotten and smiles appreciatively when I hold the basket out to her.
I follow around with the basket as she rambles about her plants and she gets frustrated when she finds a snail in her lettuce. "How did he even get up here!?" She groans and takes him out throwing the snail onto the roof next to us. Clay and I look at each other and burst out laughing. We let her do her thing in her garden and he pulls back to walk with me as she talks to her vegetables.
"So are you excited to be her Best Man?" I ask and he nods.
"Definitely, that was always the plan." He reveals and I smile softly before I realize what he said.
"Wait, she didn't want a maid of honor?" I clarify.
He shakes his head, "Nope, we used to talk about our dream weddings and how we would be each other's best people. She can be traditional but also marches to the beat of her own drum. To be honest, I'm surprised she didn't date girls sooner." He teases but she doesn't hear us.
"Wait really?" I ask.
"Oh yeah, I always got the vibe she was bi or pan or whatever, the label does't really matter. I think she knew too but didn't really take interest in girls. There was a couple that I thought she might have tried something with but she always insisted that she didn't. She didn't deny being attracted to them though." He continues and I hum in surprise.
