hwamin and junkyu, childhood sweethearts once dreamed of achieving their idol dreams together, but what happen...
“one mango ice cream and one cookies 'n cream, please. both in cones.”
the shop is almost empty, but the fact doesn't surprise you. this ice cream shop that you frequented with your boyfriend was pretty secluded, on the other side of the town where not many people lived or came.
junkyu's hand is holding yours tightly, swinging your interlocked fingers from side to side in a calm way. the man behind the counter nods with a smile, accustomed to seeing the both of you visiting quite possibly your favourite place other than junkyu's arms at the end of every week, the soft colours the walls were painted with and the wooden benches lining one side of the small shop doing wonders to get rid of the stress of college.
"two ice creams for my two favourite people coming right up." you tug at junkyu's larger hand encompassing yours and walk towards a table for two, sitting on one of the chairs and grabbing his hand again when he was seated across you.
you talk about anything and everything with your boyfriend, his dimpled smile and deep voice that filled the room when he laughed at one of his own silly jokes making your heart swell so much you thought it would burst.
another one of the waiters, jina, comes up to the two of you chatting peacefully about buying dreamcatchers for your home with two ice cream cones with generous scoops of the chilled treat in them in either hand.
you thank the young girl, who skips away joyfully back to the staff room in her yellow summer dress.
that's when it hits you.
"junkyu, you don't like cookies and cream, though." said boy looks up, glancing down at his ice cream before he giggles.
"i don't think you noticed, but there was not much mango ice cream in the tub. and, i know you like it so i got you that flavour." he explains and you furrow your brows despite his sweet gesture.
"no, but you...hate cookies and cream."
"It's okay, minnie."
you shake your head, already reaching out to exchange your treats. "it's not. take your mango ice cream."
junkyu hesitates but eventually gives in, knowing that you wouldn't have it any other way as he slowly licks the mango flavoured ice cream, sighing contentedly.
you smile satisfactorily, immediately biting into your own delicious treat and watch junkyu grimace.
"ugh, i hate when you do that."
