I can still remember that deep hunger that I felt while looking at the hot breads from a bakery. On that moment, it's been twelve hours since my Mom driven me out of our house.

"Hijo, bibili ka ba?" the seller asked. I just shook my head.

Wala akong pera noong mga panahong iyon, maski sentimo. Wala namang laman ang sasakyang dala ko. Maski gamit o damit man lang, wala.

My shoulders dropped because of so much hunger. I felt like I will die in just a few hours.

I thought of myself as a trash during that moment. I am nothing but a normal trash. I was dumped by my mother and there's no other place for me in this world now that my Dad is dead and all I did is to think of being with him so I can be happy... again.

"Hoy, wala kang makain?"

I froze when a kid at my age approached me.

"Oo," I answered shortly.

My brows furrowed when he raised his hand on the air. "Apir tayo. Ako rin, e!"

He laughed that also made me laughed. I knew from that moment, we have the same vibes. He held me at my shoulders and dragged me around.

"Ito nga pala ang mga kapatid ko. Si Elle, Ian, at Chloe," he said while pointing at the little children in front of us.

"At ako naman si Gio! Sama ka na lang samin lagi, pre. Hanap tayo ng makakain." I was stunned with that thought of him. He was like a savior, he saved me from dying even if he only had nothing but himself and his siblings.

They were very thin and full of dirt. While me, I have nice clothes, but like them, I don't have a place called home.

I thought that I had the worst experience, but with what he just said, I don't think I am. I'm still blessed at least, I guess?

"Ayan!

I instantly smiled when I saw the curve on their faces while clapping their hands due to so much happiness.

"Wow, pre! May kotse ka pala? Bakit dito ka lang nakatira?" Gio asked.

"Long story, pre.

Because of them, I have something to wear, eat, and laughed with. We arranged the back of my car and turned it into a mini home.

She was just six years old but she acts like a mother already.

Then I realized, my mother didn't even have the time to cook for me. But it's okay. Like what she have said, I am not his son.

I spent my whole summer clinging into the trash bins and dump sites just to have something to sell.

Naka-wantawsan tayo ngayon, oh!" Gio proudly said.

I held the money and placed it in my hands. "Mali ka naman, e. One hundred lang ang naipon natin! Ayan, oh. Bilangin mo kaya," I said while counting the coins at my hand.
