Meme was so nervous. When the smoke had cleared, and everyone came back to their senses, Socks had disappeared. It was all according to his plan, so he was happy, but Meme was also worried.
So many things could happen to Socks out there that his stupid ass hadn't even thought of when he'd made the plan. Meme's anxiety was sky-high right now, and it didn't help that he had to bring Nadwe to Laff today to be 'cleansed.' and pull off another plan.
Nadwe was also obviously having some doubts about the whole thing, but somehow stayed more still on the way there then Meme had expected. Usually Nadwe fidgeted with things, but not today. He seemed confident in Meme's ability to pull it off.
Which somehow made it worse.
He could not fail this. Nadwe was depending on him to succeed.
Trying to distract himself, Meme decided to look at the scenery. He had to admit, the rural path to Laffs house was very pretty. He saw a lot more animals then he did when he was in the village, or at the small town area, where TBH had a gym and fast food place, Woolfster had just opened a tavern, and Meme was opening a doctors office.
"You ready to go in?" Meme asked Nadwe as they reached the doorway. Nadwe shifted uncomfortably.
"Yeah...let's just get it over with." Nadwe muttered. Meme knocked on the door. A very disheveled Laff answered it.
"Oh! Ow, mates, fancy seeing youse here! I almost forgot about what we'd...scheduled for today. Come in, and we'll make it quick." Laff promised, ushering them inside.
"This won't hurt, will it?" Nadwe dared to ask as Laff hurriedly made preparations.
"It depends on how high your pain tolerance is. It's really not all that bad though. Your a tough kid, so it probably won't hurt you too badly." Laff answered, looking through his cabinets for something.
"Was that a compliment? From Laff?" Meme joked. Laff spared him a glance before going back to what he was doing.
"Don't get used to it." Laff said gruffly.
A few minutes later, it was set up. Laff stepped back.
"Okay...what now?" Meme asked.
"Nadwe needs to step here, and then I'll read the cleansing spell from this book. After that, I pour the water on Nadwe, and he'll be a human again. No more disgusting vampire disease." Laff told him, a grossed out look on his face at the mention of vampires.
"Okay. Make it quick." Meme sighed. Nadwe hesitantly stepped where Laff had told him to. Laff readied the book and started reading it. Meme could see pain flash through Nadwes eyes as this was happening.
