Arctic spires had stretched to sky. Snow, fog and wind flew over the freezing ice tundra. Jack screamed at himself, grunting in frustration and aiming the small, flaxen box out into the fog, preparing himself to throw it. However, he hesitated, slumping back down and staring at the small box containing all of the memories he had forgotten.
"I thought this might happen."
Jack's jaw hung wide for a second, realising who the voice belonged to and ignoring it. His face scrunched in disgust, so badly wanting a fight, so badly wanting to defeat Pitch. But he held himself back for now.
'They never really believed in you, even your poor mother. And she believes in everyone," Pitch spoke, fake concern filling his voice, "I was just trying to show you that."
Jack's breaths were hitched, his anger was boiling deep down inside him, threatening to bubble and erupt. He clenched onto his staff, not wanting to waste his power.
"But I understand..."
Pitch's constant voice is what struck a cord in Jack. Within seconds, Jack had struck with a large blow of Frost, leaping out over Pitch as he shielded himself with nightmares, "You don't understand anything!" He screamed. He repeatedly struck Pitch with large attacks of Frost, each of which Pitch defended himself from.
"No?! I don't know what it's like to be cast out?!" Pitch shouted in return, shooting at Jack with the black sand he'd created, knocking Jack off his feet only briefly. He watched as the boy flew into the air, slashing at Pitch with more frost. However, when Pitch shielded himself this time, the collision of ice and dark combined together, exploding outwards as sparkling snow fell from the explosion. Jack couldn't even see anything when he landed back down into the snow.
"To not be believed in?!" Pitch's shouts were heard all around as the fog and falling snow dissipated, standing behind Jack, "to long for...a family..."
Jack raised his staff at the shadow, anger filling his eyes, "you had a family. Yet you threw her away."
Pitched sighed, "(Y/N), the woman who you call your very own mother, is nothing but a coward. She was too scared to face me."
"She loved you!"
"Maybe she did! But that all changed as soon as she saw who I became." Pitch growled, "but now, she'll become just like me. She'll be just like the both of us."
Jack stared at him, confusion and a touch of fear filling his mind as he carefully lowered his staff. The wind was howling all around the two, snow from the blast still fell onto them after these moments.
"All those years in the shadows I thought, no one else knows what this feels like." Pitch said, staring at the ground in sorrow, "but now I see I was wrong...with you and your mother, we don't have to be alone Jack...I believe in you...your mother believes in you. And I know the children will too..."
Pitch circled around Jack carefully, smiling at the snow spirit as he lowered his staff completely. "In me...?" Jack mumbled.
"Yes!" Pitch said excitedly, raising his hand to the large spire of ice that was combined with darkness from their small brawl, "look at what we can do...and just listen, with your mother, and her deathly music...imagine all three of us together! What goes together better than cold, dark and ominous music?" Jack stared up at the tall spire of ice, watching intently and listening to Pitch ramble on.
