Chapter 15: Easter Holidays

"Sophie?"

Nervous laughter filled the air as they all hid their weapons. The small child simply stood there with her jaw agape and small egg creature things trying to squirm out of her grip. You couldn't hold it any longer, you burst into laughter and everyone stopped abruptly, staring at the small blond who dropped the creatures, ran past you and the chased the elf that had seemingly gained her attention.

"What is she doin 'ere?!" Bunny exclaimed as the four year old ran around trying to get a hold of the small elf. The rest of you turned and face North, who anxiously felt around in his coat, "uh...snowglobe."

You were still stuck in a full on laughing fit as Bunny frantically looked around aimlessly for a way to 'remove her from the premises.'

"Crikey!" Bunny shouted profusely, "somebody do something!"

Your laughter died down as Jack held onto you, "ey, don't look at me-" he reminded, "-I'm invisible, remember?"

You watched as the little girl dragged the elf along the ground and sighed, crouching to her height, "oh honey, you're just as precious and sweet as a cinnamon roll, aren't you?"

"Don't worry Bunny!" Tooth proclaimed, flitting around the child as you stood to your feet, "I bet she's a fairy fan! It's okay little one."

"Pretty...!" Sophie gasped as her eyes landed on the colourful fairy, her iridescent wings sending shimmering lights into the child's eyes.

"Aww...you know what? I've got something for you!"she squealed in delight, opening her hand to reveal small shiny objects, "here it is! Look at all the pretty teeth, with all the blood and gum on them!"

Ah.

You should've seen that coming.

The child stared at the objects, to Tooth, then back to the teeth, until she burst into screeches of fear and ran back to you, wrapping her small arms around your leg. You laughed nervously, hovering in the air before landing atop one of the many sentinel's that were buried half-way into the ground.

Jack chuckled and joined you, hovering before leaping into the air, sitting beside you, "blood and gums? When was the last time you guys actually hung out with kids?"

Quiet snickers left your throat as Sophie slid off of your leg and back to the ground, who then shouted 'peek-a-boo!' into the small crevice where the eggs were hiding.

"We are very busy bringing joy to children!" North bellowed as he stepped forward, "we don't have time-" he paused abruptly as Sophie ran past chasing a swarm of butterflies, "-for children."

You slapped your face (it seems you've been doing that alot lately) in frustration, and slid off the large rock, "you mean to tell me, you don't spend time with the kids?"

An awkward silence ensued after your mere question, and Jack chuckled at the nervous tension, "if one little kid can ruin Easter-" a snowflake appeared inside his hand, swirling it around his palm before letting it sift away from him, "-then we're in worse shape than I thought."

The snowflake danced and spun in the air as Sophie begun her chase, only for it to drift and land straight onto Bunny's nose. Your eyes shot wide in wonder as the snowflake burst into sparkling glitter, Bunny's nose beginning to twitch adorably. Your grin beamed and you lifted the child onto your shoulders, "race ya to the colouring ponds!"

Everyone ruptured into laughter as they chased after you. It was so peaceful here, it filled you with D E T E R M I N A T I O N.

Sophie's laughter filled your ears as you landed on a small hill filled with small flowers. Next thing you knew, Bunny was beside you, watching intently as Sophie stared at the flower in excitement, which, by the way, happened to contain an egg inside. Your eyes filled with stars as the small egg leaped from the flower and down with the other thousands.
