The night sky was filled to the brim with stars. The shadows leaped from house to house as Jack chased after, his laughter filling the glacial air. Sandy followed on quickly, perched atop a glowing sand cloud. The two soared alongside eachother, Jack laughing and Sandy's beaming grin lightened the mood. They swerved around corners, flew up streets and through homes. Accidentally made a cat shriek and yowl as they passed through an apartment complex. Oops

Jack leaped from chimney's to rooftops, running on the powerlines and flipping over the tops of cars. Just as Jack thought he disappeared, Sandy glided through the air, riding one of the nightmare horses. He pressed his hand to the mare's neck, and almost immediately, she erupted into a shimmering gold. She kicked and pranced around happily as she morphed into a sting-ray, soaring through the clouds with Sandy on board.

Jack flew down close to the streets, still on the horses trail. They came to a small alleyway and Jack swung himself up from podium to podium until he came to a lower part of the roof. He struck his staff at the beast, a burst of ice hitting it just as it disappeared.

"I got it!" Jack laughed, leaping onto the higher platform. The shadow was stuck and planted to the ground as ice trapped it within the concrete. He briefly poked the nightmare with his staff, fearing that it might pop up and pounce at him, "Sandy! Sandy, did you see that?"

He looked around for his friend only to find he was nowhere in sight. Sandman, always good at disappearing and reappearing at the right time. He poked it again, "look at this thing."

"Frost."

Jack spun around and held his staff out defensively. He growled, another rupture of ice discharging from his staff as he attempted to hit Pitch, only for him to disappear out of thin air.

"Ya know, for a neutral party-" Pitch appeared on a higher ledge and peered down to the boys confusion, "this isn't your fight ,Jack. Rather, it's your mothers."

"You made it my fight when you stole those teeth!" Jack retorted defensively, his staff seemingly about to snap from the pressure in his hands.

"Teeth? Why do you care about the teeth?" Pitch retaliated. All of a sudden, twinkling and brightness filled the air as Pitch looked down beside him, only to jump away. Sandy stood there with his arms crossed, eyeing Pitch angrily. Pitch laughed, "now this is who I'm looking for."

Upon his words, Sandy slung a pair of lasso's from out of nowhere and slashed at Pitch. Fortunately for Pitch, he dodged each strike and formed a scythe in his hands as he tried to land a blow on Sandy.

The scythe clashed against the lasso's and Sandy successfully wrapped one around Pitch's wrist and flung him into the air, briefly letting him go before tightening back up and crashing him into the concrete, against the wall and tossed him onto the streets.

Sandy brushed his hands together and smiled Jack, "remind me not to get on your bad side," and with that, the two leaped down into the middle of the streets.

"Okay, easy. You can't blame me for trying, Sandy," Pitch begged as he crawled across the road away from them, "you don't know what it's like to be weak and hated!" He stood up at last and held his hands out in defeat, "it was stupid of me to mess with your dreams. So, I'll tell you what. You can have them back."

Whinnying and the clatter of hooves filled the air. Horses rose up from the sewers, appeared in alleyways, beneath cars and buses, and surrounded them. Their glowing eyes penetrated into Jack's as they snorted aggressively. Hundreds more flew from the skies, tops of buildings and from forests as they circled around Jack and Sandy.
