The night seemed to drag on boringly, most parties do at this point. Posh people talking and gossiping amongst themselves, you had no interest in them.
You sat quietly in your throne, watching over the people dancing, funnily enough, you don't know how to dance. Kinda weird for a Queen, right? You sighed, bored out of your mind as you watched Rogue dance with a bunch of the other girls. Who knew that girl could be such a charmer.
North stood beside you and laughed alongside Tooth; they seemed to be telling jokes to one another, probably to ease their worries about Jack. Speaking of the snow spirit, it was getting dark, meaning Pitch and the Nightmares would be roaming around. Sadly, all you could do was try and wait patiently, after all, you had sent out a search party, hoping for them to find something.
"You alright...?" A familiar voice was heard beside you. You looked over to Vanish and gave a forced smile, "I'm alright Vanish, just bored outta my mind..." I mean- you were telling the truth, you really were bored out of your mind, there was never anything to do at these parties, the fun begins with the festival in the morning.
"Why don't you go dance?" Vanish suggested, "Bunny's looking a little lonely, wink wink."
Your face flushed a deep beet red, you looked out to the other side of the room to see Bunny leaning against the wall with a glass of wine sitting in his paw. However, your blood began to boil slowly as you saw the amount of women trying to get his attention. But unbeknownst to you, Bunny couldn't care less about those other women, all he wanted was to have a few moments dancing with you. He watched you sit there in boredom, only being able to guess what was running through your mind. He sipped his wine and watched you speak with Vanish, admiring your beauty.
You were dressed in a silky pearl white dress that overlapped with folds everywhere, it dragged along behind you as you walked, making it seem as if you were floating off the ground or standing upon clouds. The next thing that was easily noticeable was the large sword attached to your waist, the colours each complimented each other gracefully. And goodness your jewels shimmered delicately beneath the light of the stars and the moon. He noticed a large ice necklace that was closed around your neck, it seemed to be Jack's handiwork too. Bunny never took him be someone who made jewellery.
The next thing that caught his eye wasn't a very...good thing, Scattered feathers laced around your throne, and your wings were no longer their blinding white. They were growing darker as the hours passed on. You could barely hold yourself up and fly anymore.
"You're staring, my friend."
Bunny suddenly began to choke on his wine out of shock from the sudden voice. He pounded his paw on his chest as North and Tooth watched, laughing quietly.
"Oh Bunny, I'm just waiting for you to confess!" Tooth exclaimed excitedly, "we all know!"
"Oh quit yer' yappin Sheila." Bunny glared, finally getting his drink down his throat. "I got no clue what either o' ya's are talking about."
North chuckled and drank his egg nog, "well how do you feel about this then?"
Bunny looked on in confusion, only to see North gesture to multiple people holding bouquet's of flowers out in front of you. You looked exceedingly uncomfortable, politely declining the flowers from each of them, however only more and more appeared.
Bunny growled and within an instant, he bounded off, suddenly appearing next to you with his own bouquet of rainbow roses in his paws.
"Bunny...? What are you doing...?"
"Treating you betta' than these idiots," He growled, but handing you the sweet scented roses. You smiled sweetly, such an overprotective Bunny. You handed the bouquet of rainbow roses to Vanish, "can you find a suitable vase, Vanish...?"
She looked onto you smugly before flitting off giggling to herself. You yourself even stifled a small chuckle, only to be swept off your feet and onto the dance floor. You immediately panicked to yourself, gripping onto Bunny's shoulders in case you fell. People think you can dance, but hell to the no.
"What's wrong Sheila? You shy?" Bunny asked, holding your hips in his large paws and gently swaying alongside you.
"Well...I just...I don't know how to dance..." You mumbled, your hands gently eating on his shoulders, "I mean- I've watched others dance ad tried to myself...but I guess I' just bad at it..."
Bunny eyed your shy face intently, "well...you seem to be doing pretty well right now?"
You looked up into his eyes in surprise, only to see that you were slowly dancing alongside him. A small grin made it's way onto your face as you danced.
"Maybe ya just hadn't found the right partner that matches yer own pace?" He said proudly, his ears standing tall and flaunting his own ego. You giggled quietly, finally overcoming your boredness prior to your dancing. This felt like a nice evening to be honest, despite everything that has happened, your worry was pushed to the back of your mind, at least for now.
Bunny stifled a chuckle, only to look around to see other people were looking onto the both of you in confusion. You began to finally notice their stares and your nervousness decided to kick in. You gripped onto Bunny tightly and stared down, your anxiety overwhelming you. Bunny carefully rested his paw against the back of your head, "why don't we go and get some fresh air, love..."
You nodded silently an allowed him to pull you along away from others as they all continued to dance the night away. You stepped out onto the marble balcony and let the fresh air collide against your skin, immediately feeling refreshed. Bunny continued to sway alongside you, "see...I told ya, you dance beautifully...:
Your face flushed a light pink as you giggled softly, "you're far too kind...."
"Only for you, dove..." He whispered in your ear softly, wrapping his arms around your waist and leaning his face into the crook of your neck. You smiled softly, wrapping your arms around his neck gently. You hadn't felt like this in a long time. You hadn't felt this loved in what seemed like forever. Very few cared for you the way Bunny did, that was something that made him so interesting.
"Sheila...can I tell ya something'..." Bunny asked quietly, standing up straight with his paws still resting on your hips gently. Your eyes were filled with the moonlight as you pondered, confused as to what he was going to say.
"You can tell me anything Bunny...you know I'll listen...."
Bunny began to become nervous as his paws slowly shifted from your hips, resting one on the side of your face gently. He couldn't use his words to describe how he felt about you, your kindness, your care, your love. He love's everything about you. You leaned your face into his palm, smiling softly and waiting for his words. He had opened his mouth, but no words could be heard. He groaned in annoyance of himself and simply leaned down to your height, his lips barely touching your own.
He would have continued forth if screams hadn't interrupted your moment.
