Chapter 33: Reunited At Last

That goddamned Elf.

By now, North had burst into bellowing laughter, picking up more snowballs and throwing them each at the children, "you are all on naughty list!"

You laughed at North's antics and cleaned the snow off the back of your head, and instead of dumping snow onto the elf; you simply picked him up and placed a small kiss on his forehead, "now please stop throwing snowballs at me."

The elf's face turned red as his knees buckled, he fell from your hand and landed head first into the snow. You giggled, and began to watch North chase after the children, snowballs being fired to and fro.

"Bunny! Think fast!" North shouted, hurling a snowball directly into Bunny's face and hitting him square on the nose. Bunny immediately fell into the snow, not even caring that he was being made a fool of himself. He was just happy to be believed in.

You laughed as they al had their joy, when you eyes suddenly landed on Pitch. You immediately stood your guard, slowly stepping towards him. He looked at his surroundings in fear, watching them all have fun, and ducking so the flying manta-ray wouldn't get near him.

"You dare have fun in my presence?!" Pitch scowled. "I am the Boogeyman and you will fear me!" He shouted, immediately running towards Jamie. You suddenly began to panic, wanting to intervene, but..

Jamie simply ran right through him.

You covered your mouth as you gasped, the strings on your heart being pulled.

"No!" Pitch gasped, staring into his hands, "No, no..."

Jack, North, Tooth, Bunny and Sandy each stood to your side, staring directly at Pitch. You stepped forward slightly, stretching your hand out to him. The others looked onto you in confusion and concern.

Pitch simply stared into your gaze, unaware of your own motives. The moments went on as you stepped forward once more, but this time, he began to run in the opposite direction. You began to panic, frightened if he were to be harmed even more so.

Pitch began to pant loudly as he sprinted throughout the streets and towards the forest, his own fear setting in on him. He sprinted through the trees and around the bushes, and finally onto the frozen lake.

However unfortunately for him, he simply ran straight into North and fell backwards. How you all got there before him, he would never know.

"Leaving the party so soon?" North said, stepping forward as Pitch began to shuffle away.

"You didn't even say goodbye," Tooth continued, flicking a quarter into Pitch's hands.

"A quarter?"

Before Pitch could say anything else, Tooth struck her fist against Pitch's jaw, knocking a tooth out. Pitch cried out in pain, staring at Toothiana in shock.

"And that's for my fairies."

"You can't get rid of me!" Pitch shouted, "Not forever! There will always be fear."

"So what?" North began, "as long as one child believes, we will be here to fight fear."

"Really?" Pitch grinned, "then what are they doing here?"

The Guardians looked around, Nightmares surrounding the area. North, Bunny, Tooth, Sandy and Jack, none of their faces were filled with fear.

North chuckled, "They can't be my Nightmares. I'm not afraid."

"Actually," you intervened, stepping out in front of North, "They're mine."

They all stared at you, you humble glow setting their fear at ease. You smiled, "Given the fact that I haven't slept in years because of Nightmares...I suppose I made friends with them..."
