You wrapped your arms around yourself, looking at the clock as you laid in bed. It was sometime past midnight, you could still hear Zach talking to Stefan in hushed voices. Something was wrong, they sounded like they were arguing, which they had been for days.

Your heart was always racing, your anxiousness had grown from the events of last week. Your phone was nowhere to be found, and after all the strange occurrences that happened, you knew something big was coming. You knew you would have to tell someone, either Zach, Laura, or Stefan, but they were already preoccupied.

"Knock knock," Derek whispered, opening your room door as you sat up in your bed.

"Why are you awake?" you asked, motioning for him to sit on your bed.

"They've been arguing for at least two hours," he replied.

You sighed, running your fingers through your hair.

"Rock, paper, scissors?" you raised an eyebrow.

"Uhm, none. I can't hear them with my werewolf hearing, which means they really want to keep us out of this. I'm not eavesdropping," you rolled your eyes in annoyance before pushing yourself out of the bed.

"Well, eavesdropping is my specialty and if they're gonna keep us up, we have a right to know what's going on. Don't be boring, Derek," you replied.

You had been up all week as it was, that pit feeling in your stomach wasn't letting you sleep. You spent your nights lurking around the house, making sure everyone and everything was safe.

Derek sighed, before following you out of the room, while you led him down the stairs.

"I can't control what he's going to do. Lexi's not going near him again, not after last time," you heard Stefan's voice, earning a scoff from Zach.

"You mean after she had sex with him? What did you expect to happen?" Zach replied.

"Maybe you should both get your heads out of your asses. It doesn't matter if we can control Damon or not, our main priority is keeping everyone else safe. Zach, you have a cellar downstairs and you have vervain," you frowned, looking at Derek as he frowned, the two of you were visibly confused.

Who's Damon?

"That can only hold him for so long, I mean-" Zach started before Laura shushed him.

Shit!

You gave Derek a look, the two of you slowly backing up before Laura called your names, while you froze.

"Hey, we were just getting some water-" you tried to lie, Derek following you Zach's study room before Laura rolled her eyes.

"Derek, the truth?" you saw Laura flash her red eyes to Derek while he tensed up.

"Okay, we were trying to sleep but you guys have been arguing for so long and the curiosity got the best of us, and then (Y/N) wanted to play rock, paper, scissors to see who would listen in because I couldn't with my werewolf hearing but then I said no and then (Y/N) said I was boring then she came downstairs and I followed her," your face dropped, shoving Derek.

"Dude!" you exclaimed.

"How much did you hear?" Zach asked.

"Well," Derek started.

"Shut up! We have a right to know what's going on, okay?" you interrupted Derek.

You saw Laura and Zach turn to Stefan while he sighed, rolling his eyes.

"No, you're both not allowed to leave the house until further notice."

"What?" you exclaimed.
