"Thank you for your time Nayeon-ssi. It was nice chatting with you."
"As always Hyun oppa, good talking to you."
"Ladies and gentlemen, give a round of applause for Im Nayeon, the brand new global ambassador for Louis Vuitton."
Nayeon throws her signature bunny smile at the audience and waves at them as a round of applause splits her ear drums.
She hasn't expected the interview to be this tough. Hyun is an arrogant piece of shite, like always. He just won't stop poking his nose into her personal business.
All those questions about Mina and what she likes, what books she likes to read, what her hobbies are, it's as if the creep has a thing for her.
Nayeon makes a mental note to never take Mina to a party he attends.
"Is she my wife or his wife? Why is he so curious?"
"You know Hyun. He is just checking that yours is a genuine marriage." Her assistant Jessy answers matter of factly.
"Do you think that's what he was doing?" Nayeon asks as she plays with the stitches in her blouse, "I thought he was like infatuated with my wife or something."
"Aww you bloody nutter, you were jealous."
"I wasn't." She looks crossed at the accusation.
"Right. That's why you looked like you were two seconds away from punching him everytime he asked about Mina."
Nayeon rolls her eyes. Bless Jessy. Only the head of the label, Boram, their lawyer and the members are aware of the contract. Nobody else in the staff knows it.
She can't blame Jessy for mistaking protectiveness for jealousy. After what happened with Geun, she has a reason to be worried when men showed an extra interest in Mina.
"I wasn't going to hit him. You really should try your hand at being a journalist, you make shite up just like them." She answers cheekily to her assistant, who just glares at her silently.
Mina reads the letter.
"I don't believe this."
"Eighteen." Momo counts.
"Is this true? I just don't believe it."
"Nineteen." Sana adds.
Mina stares at the offer letter and pinches her own arm. "After all these days? I just don't believe it."
"Twenty." Jeongyeon grins.
She turns to her side and frowns at her friends.
"What are you all counting? Aren't you paying attention to what I'm saying?"
"Trust me we are. You've said I don't believe it about twenty times so far. Anything new?" Sana chuckles as she plucks the letter from her friend's hand and reads it herself. "Believe it for god's sake. What's so hard to believe that you've got a job offer?"
"I don't believe how unlucky I am." Mina sits on the bed as she rubs her temples gently. "One year of redundancy and I couldn't find a job. Now I get a job I like but I can't take it. God is evil."
"Why can't you take up the job?" Momo asks as she chews gum carelessly. She finds no reason why the blonde can't take up on the offer.
It is after all two things she likes. She is going to be the head cook at a charity home. The pay is decent.
"Why?" Mina deadpans. "Don't you know why Momo-chan? I'm already working here. I don't think I'll be allowed to work anywhere else when I'm working as Nayeon's paid escort."
