Mina first notices it on a Sunday.

There isn't any burnt breakfast on the table.

It's as if Nayeon is telling her she shouldn't get used to this life. That they'll be moving in different worlds in merely five weeks. They shouldn't be falling into any habits that will be hard to break.

Her friends have come round for dinner in the evening and dinner has turned to booze party thanks to Momo.

Nayeon's grandmother who has extended her stay because the older girl won't have it any other way, is drinking and dancing with Sana.

Joengyeon is playing a video game and Nayeon is just staring at her empty glass of water.

"Your grandmother is a legend Nayeon-chan", Sana shouts across the room to Nayeon.

The older girl smiles absent mindedly at them and scans the room, her eyes searching for something.

Mina puts on a neutral expression as Nayeon's eyes lands on her. Grabbing the tray of pizza she walks to where the singer is sitting on a loveseat.

"Hi. Your pizza."

"Thanks baby."

Nayeon keeps the tray on the coffee table and pulls her down onto her lap.

Mina lets out a soft sigh when a hand pushes her hair to a side and a kiss is laid upon her shoulder ever so gently.

This feeling in her heart she is trying to squash is growing and multiplying, beating around inside her chest trying to make it burst.

Nayeon's grandmother gives them a wide smile.

Mina feels her stomach drop.

Nayeon is acting. Because, her grandmother is watching.

Of course. Why else will she be this affectionate with her?

See me. You've never seen me.

"I see her. Why doesn't she see that?"

"Sometimes I could walk into a room. The girls could be there. Her friends could be there. You could be there. But my eyes always seek her out first. It's almost instinct now."

"Do you think I like her as a friend? Do you think I should get it off my chest and tell her that I want to be her friend?"

"Well thanks for the tedtalk anyway little guy."

Romeo wags his tail ever so loyally at Nayeon. He isn't sure about what just happened but he is glad to help in any way he can.

Nayeon walks into Boram's office a week later, looking hesitant and unsure of herself.

The blonde she has taken a lot of liking to, sits hunched over some papers, a frown creasing her forehead and Nayeon wants to wipe it off so badly.

Jihyo and Dahyun who are standing by Mina's side, greet her with a nod of their head.

"Are you coming directly from the Channel 5 interview?"

Boram's voice is full of concern.

Nayeon has taken to signing more projects than she should. She is being cruel to herself, working late nights and returning to record with members without a wink of sleep.

Nayeon wonders how she can possibly explain to anyone that she misses sharing the bed with her contract wife.

She only tires herself out, physically exhausts herself, so that she won't have time to miss anyone when she finally sleeps, if only for a few hours.

The younger girl glances across the room and smiles when she finds her. It isn't a happy smile. Nayeon might not be an expert when it comes to emotions, but even she can tell the difference between a happy and a sorrowful smile.

Her heart aches knowing that there is still some pain in the blonde's heart. It mustn't be easy to forget everything she has done.

This charade is coming to an end. And Nayeon hopes to God that Mina can finally escape all the pain she has given her.

"Your papers are ready. Mina is almost done reading hers. Once you read yours, we'll get couple of signatures here and there and send it to your lawyers. We'll file for divorce at the end of this month."

Nayeon nods, taking the papers in trembling hands.

She has known for a while this will be over soon. The papers in her hand makes it all the more real.

She doesn't even understand why she is this affected. She can always keep in touch with Mina. Of course, things will be a little different, they won't spend a lot of time together, but she'll still have her in her life and that should be enough.

She knows she shouldn't be affected, but has the heart ever really listened to the mind?

"All good?"

"Perfect."

Mina hands the signed papers to Boram.

It irks Nayeon that Mina chooses that word to use for this situation. Like the Japanese girl isn't the slightest bit affected by this.

"Never been better."

Nayeon adds quietly.

Jihyo and Dahyun exchange glances as they solidify their belief that they haven't met better actors than the two people before them.
