"She was on a tour past two weeks, she'll be gone for two weeks again today."

Momo says, frustratedly smashing the remote again and again on the table to make the television work.

Mina nods absent mindedly.

This explains why Nayeon hasn't visited her at the cake shop for two weeks, not that she cares or anything.

"Her hand was in a cast."

Mina takes a swig of water from the glass on the kitchen top.

"It has been in a cast for three weeks now. Apparently broke her finger or something." Momo replies offhandedly, turning the remote upside down to smash it again.

So, Mina thinks, the singer's hand has been in a cast since her birthday. Could she have been somehow responsible for it?

She feels guilt knot in her stomach, but quickly brushes that thought away. She's certain she's not all that important to the older girl to affect her like that.

She reflects back to the audition day when Nayeon was wearing a long jacket and her hands never let her pocket.

She knows how Nayeon hates being weak in front of others, avoids being vulnerable, always wanting to look indestructible.

But destroys others without a second thought.

Mina turns to her side, fixing Momo with a curious look because something strikes her odd.

"How do you know all this?"

Momo stops abusing the remote and throws a sheepish smile at her.

"The magazines." Her tone is peculiar, and Mina has a feeling Momo has been talking to Nayeon.

Nayeon visiting her at the audition, crashing the lunch service at the home, these were all way too perfectly timed to be brushed off as mere coincidences.

"I get all my information from magazines." Momo repeats unnecessarily.

Mina is positive she is lying, Momo always fidgets when she lies. And right now she is playing with the stitches on the cushion, looking at everywhere but her.

Mina drops the subject because she is just grateful for the two weeks of peace that's going to come with Nayeon's absence.

Liar. Her traitorous mind chimes in.

Nayeon walks into the house, looking apprehensive and unsure of herself.

Her nerves are frayed, her heartbeat is loud and palpable in her chest, and she is shaking slightly.

She has just returned from the tour and Mina's mother has finally agreed to meet her for lunch.

For two months, she's bombarded her with emails, something Nayeon usually doesn't do, but quickly got a hang of for the older woman's sake.

Nayeon has sent her emails after emails, only to not hear back from her.

Dear Ms Myoui,

I hope you're reading this.

I've sent so many mails which you never replied to. I have a feeling I'm bothering you and I apologize for that. This would be the last one I'm writing to you.

I know I've hurt your daughter beyond imagination and I will never forgive myself for it, so I don't expect you to either.

I only want a chance to prove to you that I love her with all my heart. I want a chance to make everything right, to give Mina the love she deserves.
