If one thing Nayeon's sure about is that she doesn't deserve kindness from anyone.

Especially from the girl on whom she has inflicted so much pain.

So many times.

But the vacant spot where the couch normally lays tells Mina doesn't think the same.

"I kept tripping over it. Jeongyeon and Momo helped me move it to the guest room."

Mina offers as an explanation.

They both know it's a lie. Mina isn't a clumsy person, she is.

"I hope you don't mind."

Nayeon shrugs dismissively, not wanting to draw attention to the goofy grin growing on her lips.

"Goodnight fuckers".

Momo, who's staying the night with them, announces from the door.

Mina looks at Nayeon worriedly for a fleeting second.

Momo never watches her words around Mina. Apparently, she's grown comfortable enough around Nayeon to not hold back either.

"Goodnight you crazy idiot."

When Nayeon flashes her bestfriend a toothy smile, Mina gasps slightly.

Momo plants a loud kiss on Mina's cheek and proceeds to plant a wetter one on Nayeon who wipes her cheek calling her gross.

Mina shakes her head throwing an affectionate glance at the pair. She feels her heart swell at how sweet Nayeon is being.

Momo shuffles the hair on Nayeon's head and retires to the guest room with another loud goodnight.

Nayeon is the first one to wake up again. They've drifted towards each other during the night again.

Only this time, she is spooning Mina from behind and the blonde's back is curled into the front of her body and she has an adorable pout on her lips.

Nayeon doesn't know what makes her do it, but she strokes the errand hairs on Mina's head.

Mina looks peaceful and serene, like nothing in the world can hurt her.

Except her.

Nayeon pulls away at the realisation. Her eyes becomes glassy as she glances at the younger girl.

No apology in the world can heal the pain she has caused her.

So she lays a gentle kiss on the sleeping girl's forehead putting all her emotion into that one kiss and walks out of the room, wiping the tears away from her eyes.

"Momo-chan, go away."

Mina swats at her only for Momo to get more excited like a child would when you tell them to calm down.

"Sleepy Mina. Wakey Mina."

Momo hollers as she tickles the blonde, rousing her from her sleep.

They laze around the garden with Romeo, avoiding Mr. Im.

He seems to be in a foul mood today, not that he is in any other mood on any other day, but he is especially grumpy this morning.

Mina doesn't have to be at work because it is a Sunday. She has woken up feeling cold, to find Nayeon gone.

Breakfast is made again.

"Nice. Charcoal for breakfast."

Momo laughs throwing a burnt toast at Mina.

"Can you please tell her to stop making breakfast?"

Mina wants to. But she doesn't want to hurt the older girl's sentiment behind it.

Besides, she finds it really endearing.

"I'm bored."

"Help me arrange the closet. I'm sharing Nayeon's and I have a feeling I'm hogging a lot of space."

"Yikes, that's even more boring."

"Come on you nutter."

Mina drags her to the room.

Momo turns on the song she has been trying to record on her phone the previous day.

Mina laughs hearing herself and Momo bicker in the recording. She laughs even more when she hears Momo hit a bumnote.

She moves her coats to a side making more space for Nayeon's coats.

Momo moves it back to make more space for Mina.

"You're supposed to help me Momo-chan."

Mina whines as the recording keeps playing in the background, both of of them not paying much attention to it.

"Don't you think they're a bit too close?"

They stop when they hear Mr. Im's voice.

"Sure she isn't fucking your wife behind your back?"

"They're bestfriends dad."

Nayeon's controlled voice says.

Momo must have left the recording on her phone on by mistake.

"Momo-chan, turn it off."

"No, this is interesting."

Momo picks up the phone before Mina can snatch it away and delete the audio.

Mina tries to reach for the phone but Momo is wearing high heels and it is getting really difficult to concentrate because she's distracted by what she's hearing.

Mina stops trying when she hears Nayeon defending her.

She hears every word.

Every word Nayeon would never tell her directly.

She isn't pretending for anyone. She is just a daughter talking to her father. She is just being Nayeon.

And that's what moves Mina the most. Because it means Nayeon has meant every word she said.

She falls into the soft mattress as she tries to gather her thoughts.

"Are you okay?"

She nods, finding herself incapable of forming sentences.

There is a strange feeling in her stomach and her heart is beating quite loudly.

It only becomes stronger when Nayeon comes home that night with Momo's favourite pizza.

It becomes almost too much to handle, too intense to give a name, when Nayeon cups Mina's cheek and gives a tender kiss on her forehead.

It doesn't help Momo is giving her a knowing smile.
